Oh my word, I just finished watching the first two episodes of Showtime‘s new thriller, Penny Dreadful, and it’s just as good as I thought it could be! When I initially heard about the show’s concept of unleashing a bunch of infamous literary characters (such as Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray and Dracula) upon Victorian London, I wasn’t sure how it would all work. Based on what I’ve seen so far, the show has major hit potential and caught my interest immediately, plus I’m already completely smitten with Eva Green and of course super cutie Josh Hartnett. During the series premiere, I even jumped a few times, there’s definitely some scary moments and by the end of the second episode, there was a total WTF moment! I can’t wait to see what else transpires during the show’s eight episode run—enough people better tune in to warrant a second season. Kudos to Showtime for always managing to take risks and bring such quality shows to air.
