While I find that her character, Quinn, on Glee has always bounced back and forth between being a likable but tragically flawed young woman and a vicious harpy (although I blame this on Ryan Murphy‘s refusal to pick one goddamn motivation for a character and stick with it. I mean Jesus, that’s like the first thing you learn as a writer!), I actually really like Dianna Agron. She’s absolutely gorgeous and she seems to have a good head on her shoulders, and she seems to have a pretty good philosophy when it comes to her private life: do not become Lindsay Lohan!
Dianna Agron’s star is rising — the Glee actress graces the cover of the September issue of Cosmopolitan, and spoke about her increasing fame and how she strives to keep her private life under wraps. Agron told the magazine, “It’s really sad looking at people like Lindsay Lohan. She’s an amazing actress, but you see what happens when people know too much about your personal life. They start not being able to look at you the same way professionally. I don’t want that to happen to me.” SOURCE
I appreciate where she’s going with this, but being overexposed and constantly flaunting her personal life isn’t Lindsay’s problem. It’s actually Kim Kardashian‘s. Lindsay’s problem is that she couldn’t balance her self-control with her professionalism. She played hard and she partied hard, but she didn’t actually work hard enough to afford the right (or the money) to behave like that in her personal life. Personally, I’ve made it a point to look at what LiLo is doing, then do the exact opposite, a practice which has served me incredibly well, so stick with that and you’ll probably last a hell of a lot longer than she did.
