Britney Spears‘ new music video for “Work Bitch” was released a couple days ago, and the first thing that popped into my head was “Wasn’t there supposed to be a RuPaul sample here? Also, isn’t Britney still under conservatorship? Who the hell would give someone under conservatorship a whip and make them dance?!” Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who felt this way, because even Britney is smart enough to realize that there’s something just a bit unseemly about the whole thing. TMZ reports …
“Oh my god, we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for the video than what is actually there. Like, I cut out half the video because I am a mother and because, you know, I have children, and it’s just hard to play sexy mom while you’re being a pop star as well. I just have to be true to myself and you know, feel it out when I do stuff.”
At one point, the DJ asks Britney, “Are they pushing you further than you wanna go and then you sit in the editing room and say, ‘No that has to go’ and that’s pretty much how that’s all lined up?” Britney laughs nervously and then responds, “Yes.”
I like how Britney, who’s apparently too mentally fragile to take care of herself, is still smart enough to take a step back and go “whoa whoa whoa … hold the phone here. How can I be too immature to handle myself, yet somehow mature enough for y’all to throw me in stripper gear and make me dance for money? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure that right there is some country-fried bullsh!t. Is this what that crazy bald girl was talkin’ bout, because if she was right, that’s pretty damning of the whole industry. But what do I know? It’s not like my parents ever raised me.”
