Avril Lavigne nearly got “attacked”

Avril Lavigne

I’ve never really been a fan of Avril Lavigne, mostly because generally she acts super assy and her music is annoying pop bullshit, despite the fact that she tries to come off as some sort of punk chick. Except not really because when a crazy fan tried to run up and hug her during a concert the other night, Avril ended up screaming and running away, because, you know, that’s how they handle it in punk rock.

About to launch into Coldplay’s “Fix You,” the Canadian songstress had her back to the audience as a female fan climbed on stage and attempted to grab or perhaps embrace Lavigne.

As seen in the video below, Lavigne screamed as the overzealous Avrilite was herself caught and dragged offstage by a security guard, who also happens to be her brother Matt, according to ONTD. SOURCE

First off: Avril Lavigne covering a Coldplay song? Oh my God, that is like the death of rock right there. Anyway, I know crazy fans attacking musicians is a serious problem, but that being said, the girl trying to give her a hug was basically a twig. A strong breeze probably could have gotten rid of that chick, but Avril ended up just screaming and curling up on top of a safe platform like one of those 50’s housewives screaming over a mouse. Hannah Montana was more punk rock than this.
