Just in case you haven’t been on the Internet all morning, the first image of Anne Hathaway in her Catwoman costume for the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises film has hit the web and the general consensus is that she looks great, although it isn’t really quite … catty enough.
Found in the official website, here is the first image of Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle, the alter-ego of the famous Catwoman. Hathaway, to say the least, looks much different than past Catwoman actresses, with the glasses, lack of any ears or mask and gigantic powerwheels motorbike setting her apart from Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry. All right, since you’re reading this, I’m going to assume you actually care about what I think (I have no idea why you would, but why the hell not). From what I can basically see (which admittedly isn’t much, since most of it is covered by the Batcycle), it’s more conservative than Halle Berry‘s costume, and blessedly doesn’t have the weird stitching of Michelle Pfeiffer‘s costume (What can I say? I wasn’t a fan of the stitching). Of course, I love leather, and the costume looks like a beautiful, realistic leather suit that I can actually see being worn in real life, and I’m happy they’re keeping the goggles, but I’m not fully sold on how this is a Catwoman costume, at least until I see the headpiece – assuming there is one.
