Revealed: The title of the new ‘American Horror Story’

American Horror Story: Asylum

It turns out, it’s not Ryan Murphy‘s Family Fun Time Hour with Every Celebrity Ever and Also Some Ghosts like I previously thought. Anyway, the new season of American Horror Story is coming in October to FX, which means a whole new season of sexy famous people having sex and then dying and then having sex again because hey, when in Rome, amirite? Right. Well, Ryan dropped the official title for the season, it’s … well, exactly why you thought it would be. From the A/V Club

When it premieres in October, the next chapter of the anthology series will now be called American Horror Story: Asylum, both because it takes place in an insane asylum and for other, metaphorical reasons: “We picked Asylum because it not only describes the setting—an insane asylum run by Jessica Lange’s character which was formerly a tuberculosis ward—but also signifies a place of haven for the unloved and the unwanted,” Murphy said in an FX press release explaining why he didn’t call it Crazy Person Feelings Club. He also added, “This year’s theme is about sanity and tackling real life horrors,” which builds on earlier statements he’s made saying that there won’t be any ghosts on the next installment of the show, sexy or otherwise.

Yes, that’s all well and good, but is there any chance we will get Dylan McDermott masturbating naked while a ghost in a rubber zentai suit knocks up Mrs. Coach with a demon baby again? No? I would be willing to settle for a naked Dylan guest appearance. Or perhaps new cast member Adam Levine should get naked? You see where this is going …
