Deep Throat (1972) alumni Linda Lovelace (who died at age 53 back in 2002) is to have her very own biopic; which will star none other than Amanda Seyfried. With production slated to begin early next year, Seyfried (25), will play Lovelace, and Chuck Traynor, Lovelace’s husband (he died three months after Linda), is to be played by Peter Sarsgaard. But that isn’t the only production underway that will focus on the porn star … wasn’t there another blonde bombshell rumored to play a similarly risqué role? Just months ago Lindsay Lohan was offered the lead role in Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story (trapped in pre-production limbo at the moment), but was dropped for obvious reasons; the role went instead to Malin Akerman of Watchmen and Couples Retreat fame. With interest rising in the Lovelace legend and two productions possibly underway, casting melodrama is the only piece of this potentially blockbuster franchise floating to the surface, only time will tell whether we’ve got casting gold on our hands, or tarnished silver.
