It is a dark time for the Kingdom of Pop. Lady Gaga‘s “Applause” has all but officially flopped, Katy Perry‘s “Roar” remains as successful and reductive as ever, and an era of overall basic bitchiness threatens to take hold of the land. In these trying times, however, there is hope – hope that you can find on Britney Spears‘ official website.
On Tuesday morning, the Holy Spearit herself brought to our attention a timer counting down to September 17th, the release date of something called, “All Eyes on Me.” Speculation suggests “All Eyes on Me” will be the lead single of Spears’ highly-anticipated eighth album, but nothing official has been announced.
Although the albums title has not been released, we do know a few things for sure. One, Brit-Brit is working closely with will.i.am, with whom she shared the mega-hit, “Scream & Shout.” Two, she’s already co-written a “heartbreaking” song with the amazing singer-songwriter Sia, who recently tweeted that Britney’s vocal work on the track was, “outstanding.” And three, that regular Madonna-collaborator William Orbit (“Ray of Light,” anyone?) is to be having quite a hand in Spears’ latest effort.
So prepare yourselves, pop music lovers, because you know what this means. The eighth coming of Godney is upon us.
