Trailer: Roman Polanski’s ‘Carnage’

Carnage

Director Roman Polanski promises another wham packed entry into his cannon of notable works with his take no prisoners Carnage. Polanski worked on the script while under house arrest in 2010 with Yasmina Reza, adapted from Reza’s Tony award-winning play God of Carnage. Academy Award-winners Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, Christoph Waltz and Oscar nominee John C. Reilly comprise the only players in the dark comedy, about two adult couples who meet up to discuss a dispute their children had on the playground earlier that day. Interestingly enough, though set in Brooklyn, New York, filming was shot in Paris per Polanski’s inability to entrench on American soil. Also music is by Alexander Desplat, whose credits include Golden Globe-winning work in The Painted Veil as well as BAFTA award-winning work in The King’s Speech. The film will premiere at the Venice Film Festival with a major American release set for December 16th. Watch the just released trailer below, will the film pick up Oscars like the play picked up Tonys?
