  • Ihadaskinheaduntilmyhairgrewback

Wonder if Cindy Palmano is back on board? This reminds me very much of BFP style artwork. Already people are shouting urgghhh theres blood running down her leg. Im sure Tori though long and hard about that considering her past.

  • Zuka (Brazil)

    I LOVE TORI AMOS!!!!

  • Julie

I heard her say that she’s taking her gloves off this time around. I have been obsessed with trying to figure out where she’s headed. May 1st seems a long, long way away. Any word on when she’s touring in Illinois?

  • Paul Vickery

Love Bouncing Off Clouds. So hope she’s touring with the band. This sound really needs it. There’s only so much you can do with a piano and nine albums in things need to change. Don’t get me wrong, i have everything from her, but band make some noise, please………Paul x

  • torifan

  • johann

well i’m in love with this woman tori amos since little earthquakes i got all things she ever released, i love bigwheel and bouncing of clouds! so i’m listening to these little snippets of the two songs over and over. i wish it’s may already. i like the dark tori the beekeeper was not a favourite of mine at all but i still loved her but she’s gonna kick me in the chest again with this american doll posse release of her and by god i missed the feeling. i love you tori and i do wish that you would make a turn in sunny south africa sometime please! i want to see you live so badly it hurts! please do come. love you forever!

  • doug

Judging by these three new songs, it sounds like this could be the most mainstream of her albums, although the three songs all have different sounds and sound like nothing else she’s done before. I loved the last two albums as much as the first four, but I don’t want her to do another “Orange Knickers” or another “Taxi Ride” and I think people should give up wishing for another “Precious Things” or “Father Lucifer”.

  • http://www.davidmichaelconner.com DMC

I’m intrigued by the new clips…but I’m holding off judgment until I get to hear each whole song in better quality. On first listen, “Bouncing Off Clouds” is my favorite, but I keep hearing people say it’s reminiscent of Choirgirl…it seems a lot more Y Kant Tori Read to me. It’s funny; The Beekeeper had so many references to preceding albums and she’s been doing so much retrospective work (the book, the best of, the box set) that I feel sort of like she’s trying to make work what she felt failed before. That’s fine, but I wish she’d stop bashing Boys for Pele–soundwise, it’s my favorite Tori album. (Scarlet is my favorite for lyrics.) I feel like she’s trying to meet up with her own music industry insider challenges, which is respectable.
In the end, with songs (even if they’re just intros) called “Yo, George” and “Father’s Son,” I am counting on some straightforward political commentary. If Tori pulls that out of her hat, it’s about time, and I welcome it. But even if she doesn’t, a track called “Fat Slut” already makes this one of my favorite albums.

  • Alexis

I loved bouncing off clouds! This album is going to be so amazing!!!
At least you americans have the opportunity to go see Tori live, she’ll never come to South Africa. NO FAIR TORI!!

  • supasonicspacedog

SHE IS BACK AND GET YOUR GLOVES CAUSE SHE’S GOT HER CLAWS OUT AGAIN! AND WITH A TRACK LIST OF 23 SONGS I’LL GET TWO PAIRS OF GLOVES.LISTEN TO THE LYRICS OF “BOUNCING OF CLOUDS” IT’S NOT AS HAPPY AS IT SEEMS! BRACE YOURSELFS THIS MIGHT BE ONE OF THE BEST TORI AMOS RELEASES YET!

  • andria

i have loved all her albums- i just wanted to say because there are people above saying they didn’t, which is fine, but they were all surprises and all grew on me really quickly. Ihave heard nothing from her new album, but i am sure it will be grand as all the rest. well done Tori and keep on keeping on. Thankyou

  • http://uptoeleven.blogspot.com emmanuel

I am really looking forward to this. Hearing the clips, I’m sort of at peace, I coudn’t have taken another album sounding like Scarlet or Beekeeper. I’m thrilled the clean piano sound is back. I love this woman.

  • temposhark

tori’s back! tori’s back! and when i listen to “bouncing off clouds” bigwheel” and “secret spell” i feel this huge releave that it’s not another “beekeeper” release.”beekeeper” i have to say was the one and only cd that i couldnt get a grip on or it couldnt get a grip on me dont get mw wrong it was still brilliant but in a way that i didnt really relate to but there was a few songs that i liked, parasol, orange knickers and cars and guitars was not to bad. but i hear and see the brilliant tori amos on this one i cant wait i love you tori always will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you my hero!!

  • AE

Calm down, you little angsty queers; listen to some Kate Bush and stop acting like dumbass fanatics.

  • Crunchy

All the lyrics for the album have been posted on the net, and I’m not impressed.
“Yo, George” sounds like something I’d have pretentiously written at 11 years old. The singing on these three clips is better than the last couple of albums but the music’s still got a somewhat synthetic feel I hate and… I don’t know, it’s ok.
Gotta say, the fire is gone, she’s mellow now, you know? Artist – pain = sucks.

  • LL

WHat I’ve heard so far sounds better than anything off of beekeeper
    It’s somewhat edgier, comparatively speaking

  • vik

Being a tori fan for a long time, I felt after the last two albums that i was losing patience with her. Not that the albums were bad, there were snippets of very good stuff in there, but they dragged too long and the mythology (and the fancy concepts) got better of the music. And just when i felt i could not buy another indulgent tori record, i hear these songs and see the picture and i am intrigued (though the supposed cover with the five girls is possibly her worst). So i have my fingers crossed that this one will be worth the wait

  • james clarke

Dont know bout the rest of you but Im counting down the days to seeing this goddess playing live and I just cant wait for the album.Does anyone else hear shades of recent Madonna style singing on ‘bouncing off clouds’?She is gonna rock the world with this album.Us Irish fans are just so impatient for the tour.Bring it on Tori.

  • BubbyHead

“Big Wheel” is an abomination. Mediocrity at its best. I’ve been a fan of Tori’s work for years. Gretchen Wilson has now taken the form of a redhead in her 40s who goes by the name of Tori. Some Tori fans will buy an album of her speaking in baby talk and will still gobble it up like it’s a fuckin’ Beethoven masterpiece. Yeah, yeah, yeah, some fans REALLY like this song, but I know there are fans out there that know deep down that this is a garbage song in comparison to her other songs and just won’t admit for the life of them. It’s ok. to have an opposing opinion and still consider yourself a fan. I feel like that’s what some fans are worried about…..wanting so desperately to be Tori’s #1 that they force themselves to like all of her songs. If this shit was being played on some random country station, I doubt they wouldn’t even rave about this song. How brainwashed are some fans, jeez.

  • RW

What an asshole! Sometimes its better to keep your own opinions to yourself. Its more than just how the song sounds or how Tori makes it sound. If you were a real fan, you wouldn’t take the songs for face value, but rather, you would understand the meaning and delicacy behind each one of them. Each one has a purpose, a deeper more insightful meaning. The fans that you so-call “brainwashed” understand this meaning and really see what Tori is trying to say. Maybe you should understand this meaning before you make yourself out to be a pompous fuck again.

  • Winslesa

I agree with BubbyHead. I’ve listened to all of Tori’s albums, and I’ve been a fan for a long time. I caught the emotion of Tori before she shifted to the Tori we hear in the 2000′s. I could even deal with Scarlet’s Walk. It had it’s own identity. It was still Tori, only a mature maternal Tori. Can’t say the same for Bee Keeper. Most songs from Beekeeper fell flat, like background music, and “Big Wheel” falls flat HARD. There is nothing special about it. Nothing screams Tori. I’ve listened to Big Wheel over and over to see if my opinion would change, and didn’t. The MILF part is just stupid. Not cute at all.

  • johnathan

tori is back and in full force…i cant wait…..and if anybody hasnt heard of it yet go to myspace.com/speedbliss to here a remake from upcoming ADP…done by speedbliss, who also does a killer version of cooling also on the site………..i can’t wait to meet the posse…. i truely hope she plays in canada, it’s kinda hard for me to get to rome (lol)…..take care toriophiles….let blue skies and butterflies fill your heads with red headed dreams……………johnboy

  • Carpathian

I’ve been in the same limbo as many others. A fan of Tori since the start yet more than a little sidestepped by the last couple. The grand spark that gave her that mixture of vulnerability & dangerousness had somewhat gone and she was getting pretty safe and, dare I say, boring.
This album is, however, the one where I get right back on the train. Rock, country, sweetness, sleaze, whispering, piano leads and electro-fuzz, proclaiming herself a “M.I.L.F” and a “Girl Disappearing”, all while sounding her most & least like Kate Bush yet. There’s maybe only a couple of tracks out of the 23 that I’m undecided on…and they’re growing.
You know what ? I think it’s safe to say that the Amos has her metaphorical balls back and way better for it.
    Colour me somewhat relieved !

…When I read the book, Peice by Peice, and found out she was releasing another album this year, I was estatic! I’m always up for new Tori-stuff, she’s just a genieus as far as I’m concerned, but even genieus have their bad points.
The Beekeeper was kind of a disappointment to me, but I think it’s important to understand two things concerning that album: one, it’s a very spiritual album, and secondly, it’s a very maternal album. Tori’s in her 40′s, she’s a mom of a lovely little girl, and her own mother almost passed away. All of these things are goign to effect her sound.
I think it’s complete nonsense to expect her to be the same forever. She can’t always be ‘Precious Things’ and she can’t always be ‘ Spark’ or ‘Scarlet’. ( That’s not to say she she can’t revisit those places anymore, for I’m sure she does.) Each album is a recording of a differnt spot in her life, and I respect that.
Tori will always be passionate, but passion comes in many shapes and colors, Would you say ‘Under the Pink’ was any less passionate than ‘Little Earthquakes’ ? …I believe not, Tori merely displayed her passion in differnt ways both lyrically and sonicly with each of her records.
Ultimatly, Tori never fails to be herself, and she really dosen’t care whether anyone likes that or not, and that’s why I love her. ^_^

  • Tere

I get it that some people will not go with her down every path she takes, but there’s no need for the hateful shit. Why not look inside yourself a bit and forget about spewing your vitriol on the rest of us? There’s always someone who needs to pop the other kid’s balloon.
The new album has some gems and some stuff that may or may not grow on me. I love her and I’m grateful for this album.
