What’s this? A story about two talented professionals working together and not another fake sham wedding between gold-digging whore beasts and dipsh!t millionaires? I … I don’t even know what I am anymore. Anyway, here’s a new story from Deadline about how English actor Tom Hardy will be playing Elton John in an upcoming movie about his life called Rocketman.

As Deadline reported in June when FilmDistrict paid $10 million to acquire U.S. rights to the Elton John film Rocketman, Tom Hardy has been set to play Captain Fantastic himself in the Michael Gracey-directed biographical musical film. The script is by Billy Elliot‘s Lee Hall. Gracey’s directing Fox’s upcoming The Greatest Showman On Earth starring Hugh Jackman, and Disney’s The Muppet Man. FilmDistrict bought it when the film was the talk of Cannes, where it was shopped by UTA, the agency that structured the financing. It was there that UK-based Icon’s production arm AI Film agreed to come aboard to co-finance the film with Rocket Pictures.

I know more than a few people who absolutely just do not see this, but honestly, Tom is super method and has shown a pretty wide range of versatility as an actor. Also, the Bane voice? Super fun to do and an amazingly easy impression if you’re stuck for someone to do. Seriously, you’re probably reading this in Bane’s voice right now. You think you can escape it Batman, but you can’t. My voice is irresistible. You are powerless to stop it. Tittie sprinkles.
