Tina Fey got censored!

So by now you’ve probably seen Tina Fey‘s acceptance speech the other night for the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, and we can all agree that it was hysterically funny, right? Well, actually, it was originally longer and funnier, but PBS ended up cutting and censoring most of it, including parts where Fey bashed Sarah Palin stance on rape kits, evolution and gay marriage.

“And, you know, politics aside, the success of Sarah Palin and women like her is good for all women – except, of course –those who will end up, you know, like, paying for their own rape ‘kit ‘n’ stuff,” Fey said. “But for everybody else, it’s a win-win. Unless you’re a gay woman who wants to marry your partner of 20 years – whatever. But for most women, the success of conservative women is good for all of us. Unless you believe in evolution. You know – actually, I take it back. The whole thing’s a disaster.” SOURCE

You see, this is what I love about American politics: the entire thing is so absolutely goddamn ridiculous that a gay porn star can mock a former-governor-turned-famewhore and get paid to do so. I’m sure this is what Lincoln intended when he created the Republican party. Right now he’s probably up in heaven with Reagan going “Can you believe this bitch?!”
