I wanted to point your attention to a project that a member of Team PopBytes has been working on, DJ Paul V. (who just posted his 246th Mashup Of The Week yesterday) started a blog called The ‘Born This Way’ Blog, which does tip its hat to Lady Gaga but aims to go far beyond her just released song!
Paul V. explains, “the blog is a photo/essay project for gay adults (of all genders) to submit pictures from their childhood (roughly ages 2 to 12) with snapshots that innocently capture them showing the beginnings of their innate LGBT selves.” The idea had been brewing in his head for awhile, and the launching of the blog couldn’t be more timely. Since it started last month on January 9th, the site has already garnered over one million page views! Read more about the project on the blog’s info page and you can make your own submission here. Also make sure to catch a new interview with Paul V. over on Sundance Channel plus you can hook up with The ‘Born This Way’ Blog on Twitter and Facebook. Kudos to my buddy Paul V. for this hugely successful and very important venture (of course gay people were born that way, myself included!), I even heard there’s a book deal in the works, how exciting!
On a related note, Lady Gaga‘s hot new empowerment track, Born This Way has been creating quite a stir since its release last week. Of course there’s the obvious comparisons to Madonna (and others) but I still think that the track is super fabulous, I can’t get enough of it!
