hey hey – there’s one more post for the evening – i promise it’s a fun one! the B52s are back with new original material after a sixteen year lapse (their last studio release was 1992′s good stuff without cindy wilson who is now thankfully back!) the brand new album is entitled funplex and releases on march 25th! the band first formed in athens, georgia back in 1976 – 32 years ago – and today they can still call themselves ‘the world’s greatest party band’! i had the pleasure of seeing them play live at the roxy back in november and they totally rocked out – it was such an awesome show! the first single is the title cut and you can listen to stream below or pick up the track at itunes – i’ve been playing ‘funplex’ super loud in the car over the past few weeks and i love it – their website makes the bold claim of ‘loud, sexy rock and roll with the beat turned up to hot pink’ – i couldn’t agree more! popbytes over & out for tonight…xxoo!
