hey hey! i promised i’d dig up something for this week’s ‘monday .mp3′ and i’m proud to present the awesome new single from kick-ass brooklyn rapper talib kweli called say something – i’ve been a fan of mr. kweli since his days of blackstar with mos def (the song definition was already featured in this column!) he has a new album coming out entitled eardrum which will be dropping on july 24th!
on the title talib stated the image of the ear and of the drum, which are powerful enough by themselves, but put them together and it’s an instrument in your body that helps you hear. they’re also two very simple, yet powerful words. i wanted to focus on finding a sound that makes you move, and that’s where the word ‘eardrum’ popped in my head.
oh my gosh – i’m literally out of my head with feeling beat & overwhelmed (i’m way behind on emails but i’m catching up…) tomorrow i’ll be back at the day job and i’m ready to get back in the groove! thanks to everyone who has linked me over the past few days – i was beyond stressed that by taking a long overdue mini-vacation my traffic would drop but everything is all ok – woo hoo! popbytes over & out for tonight…xxoo!
