Yesterday, we posted Beyoncé's moody cover of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" for The Great Gatsby (in theaters May 10th) soundtrack (via Interscope Records). Well, in the interest of fairness, Beyoncé had her hit song "Crazy In Love" covered for the movie by Emeli Sandé, who puts a jazzy swing to it. So apparently this weekend is Easter, which threw me for a loop because ... well, isn't that usually in April? And we're in March? This is global warming's fault, isn't it? Just because I'm absolutely in love with her music, here's Jessie Ware covering Rihanna's hit song "Diamonds" (written by Sia) for BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. It's a more stripped down version of the original, but I think it works a little bit better because of it. MORE
When I first heard Rihanna's number one song "Diamonds," I couldn't help but feel like it had certain vocal flourishes reminiscent of Sia. (Specifically, the hiccuping "Shine bright like a diamond.") Catch Florence and the Machine taking on hottie Drake's latest single Take Care (featuring Rihanna) which also serves as the title track for his totally stellar sophomore album! I've been obsessed with the song upon first hearing it a couple of weeks ago, Florence Welch does such an amazing job with the track which is definitely bound to be a number one hit for Drizzy and RiRi!
