‘Bait’ (in 3D) looks awesomely stupid!

Don’t you just hate it when you go grocery shopping, and then people with guns come in and hold everyone up, and then a tsunami hits and floods the entire store and also a 12-foot long great white shark gets swept in to? Oh, wait, that never happens to anyone in real life, but it is the premise of Bait (in 3D), which looks so awesomely stupid that I have to see it. Granted, I’m a little disenchanted with the whole shark grindhouse genre after last year’s Shark Night (also in 3D) limped through a neutered hour and a half, but at least there’s enough gore in the trailer that promises us something fun to watch and laugh at.

‘Titanic’ to be shown in 3D!

Fans of the uber Oscar-winning blockbuster Titanic (starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet) will be pleased with the recent announcement that the romantic melodrama will be released in 3D on April 6th, 2012, in commemoration of the 100 year mark since the original sinking on April 10th, 1912. Director James Cameron made the date public in a statement that has come a year and half after the original idea to redo Titanic in 3D was made public. The film was the record holder for most money earned by a film until Cameron outdid himself, literally, with 2010’s Avatar, and interestingly enough, the technology used to make Avatar will be utilized to painstakingly redo Titanic. On rereleasing the film, Cameron stated, “”There’s a whole generation that’s never seen Titanic as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen. And this will be Titanic as you’ve never seen it before. With the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike.” While for some this news may be wonderful, I’m feeling a bit more of the overkill spectrum, let Titanic rest in the record books, and at the bottom of the ocean.
