Have you noticed how fast nostalgia creeps back into our consciousness? It’s seems like people are already starting to yearn for the 90′s. Maybe it was the non-criminal president and bustling economy we had, or remembering how great alternative rock was back then, before it got so over-commercialized. The Smashing Pumpkins (in their original form) were one of the greats of the era, and ’1979′ was one of their best singles. Team 9 mashes them with the Motown strains of Marvin Gaye, and it takes on a whole new flavor. And speaking of hearing things through the grapevine, did you catch that Courtney Love is practically livid at Billy Corgan, because he didn’t show up at Frances Bean‘s Sweet 16 birthday party? She expected him to fly home from his tour in Europe. Get a grip, Courtney!
