rabbis criticize madonna
October 9, 2005 MICHAEL KNUDSEN

hey kids – well here we be on a sunday – and now madonna is causing a stir amongst a bunch of rabbis in israel – over one of her news songs isaac – which is to appear on her upcoming album confessions on a dancefloor (love the cover below!) – so ‘isaac’ is based upon yitzhak luria (a 16th century jewish mystic and kabbalah scholar) – and the rabbis in safed (a town with a seminary as well as the grave of luria) are finding themseleves unimpressed with her song – and feel she is trying to profit from his name – it was also pointed out that madonna did in fact visit many holy places while in israel – but managed to skip a visit to the grave of luria – hmmmmmm? – well of course we do love madge and her controversies – but let’s all admit this is a little boring even for madonna – look at the quote below – everyone needs to calm themselves down! popbytes out for now…
