Last week I got to see Brit New Wave group OMD (aka Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) play at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre (with opening act Diamond Rings), and although their music is just a drop before my time (they first formed up in 1978), I thought both founding members Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys were great, especially for guys who are now in their fifties! Of course I did know their hit track “If You Leave,” which was featured in the classic 1986 flick Pretty in Pink, everyone went wild while singing along with the band, myself included! OMD is on tour to support their new release, English Electric (iTunes), the band’s twelfth studio album which dropped earlier this month, and it’s well worth checking out, I listened to it recently and totally enjoyed it. All in all, it was a fantastic night, please make sure to check out the pictures and video my pal Joey was able to take during the show.
