MTV’s Video Music Awards might not suck for once!

In the hopes of finally airing an awards show that isn’t a complete and total embarrassment to MTV, Chelsea Handler has been signed on to host the Video Music Awards, which means we can look forward to a host actually being funny. All we need now is for her to bring Chuy and Chunk onto the show and I might even consider watching it!

For one special evening, Chelsea Handler is bringing her late-night raunch to primetime: Handler will be hosting the MTV Video Music Awards. The comedienne announced the gig on her E! talk show, Chelsea Lately.

“Everyone knows that when you think of rap music and hip-hop you think of ‘Chelsea Lately.’ And that’s why I will be hosting [the show],” Handler quipped, before urging her staff to vie for the extra tickets MTV gave her. “Let the ass-kissing begin,” the funnywoman smiled. SOURCE

Okay, this might not be that bad! Well, granted they’ll still hand out awards to people who have all the musical ability of a two-year-old playing the drums on a bunch of pots and pans, but hey, at least one aspect of the show won’t be ear-bleedingly awful for once. The only way this could get any better is if Kanye West shows up drunk again. Hold on, I have to go pray for this.
