I’m assuming someone checked their watch and thought “My word, it’s been almost four months since we had a contrived feud between Lady Gaga and Madonna!” because here comes another one to help remind you that Gaga and Madonna are both women in pop, and therefore they must hate each other. Anyway, footage of Madge performing Gaga’s Born This Way along with Express Yourself (as part of her new tour) hit the web over the weekend, which of course means that Madonna was firing off a bitch salvo at Gaga. Is it a matter of riding the controversy ticket as usual? Yes it is, but I’ll play along.
If you’ll remember, Madonna slammed Lady Gaga in an interview and called her “reductive”, so chances are the cover isn’t really a celebration of Gaga. But you have to remember: Madonna’s been riding the “I’m controversial!” ticket for nearly three decades now. I’m guessing after Gaga faced all those protests in the Philippines, Madonna needed something to one up her, and it was either this or putting her mouth over a baby’s and sucking the happiness out of it up on stage.
