Lindsay Lohan is officially off the Gotti biopic

About a year ago, Lindsay Lohan was trying to convince us all that she was making her comeback by playing mob boss daughter Victoria Gotti in a biopic. But of course, the movie and her role kept getting whittled down, to the point where Lindsay might as well have been playing an extra. Well, you can only stay on a sinking ship for so long, as Lindsay’s PR has officially confirmed she won’t be in the movie at all. RadarOnline reports:

LiLo is currently filming the Lifetime TV movie Liz & Dick. The movie details the rocky relationship between iconic actress Elizabeth Taylor and her on-again/off-again lover Richard Burton. “I can confirm that Lindsay has not signed on to be a part of the John Gotti movie, nor is she in talks to join the cast,” the Mean Girl’s publicist, Steve Honig, tells RadarOnline exclusively. “It does not look like an agreement can be made. Lindsay’s representatives and film producers were unable to come to an agreement. Lindsay has the utmost respect for Barry Levinson [the director of the movie] and the producers and hopes to work with them in the future and wishes them all the best.”

I am now about to say the five words that no one has ever said about Lindsay: this project was beneath her. Honestly, it’s probably for the best that she isn’t in the movie, because not only is this thing firmly entrenched in development hell, but the more details we heard about it, the more it sounded like a total piece of crap. On the plus side, this gives her plenty of time to (*snicker*) make more Lifetime movies.
