LeAnn Rimes’ reality show is doing super well, you guys

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian

Hey, remember that reality TV show LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian were making? The one where they were kind of throwing actual reality out the window and casting actors to play Eddie’s kids? Well, some version of that idea has successfully made it onto the air, and no one bothered watching it because why bother when there are shows about naked people going on blind dates? It’s like being asked if you’d rather go to McDonald’s or eat a pound of steel wool: Neither one is really good for you, but one is clearly the lesser of the two evils. Deadline (via Dlisted) reports…

The rest of VH1’s new programming on VH1 might have wanted to strip down a bit to do better. Coming after the 551,000 who watched the debut of Candidly Nicole, the 10:30 premiere of Leann And Eddie was seen by a total 374,000 audience of 374,000. The former was up 51% from last quarter among the 18-49s with 325,000 watching while the later up just 19% over the last quarter’s average in the time slot with 252,000 viewers in the demo.

Emily Yahr over at The Washington Post was one of the handful of people who actually bothered watching, and her analysis of LeAnn and Eddie’s little faux-self-depricating-passive-aggressive-revenge-show says pretty much everything you need to know about the show. Specifically, that no rational person who was actually concerned about their privacy would go on reality TV, and that no one who is “over” something would bring it up without provocation every single chance they got.
