Lady Gaga "Applause"

I’m just as excited as (most) everyone else is for new (and long overdue) Lady Gaga material which is right around the corner! All the promo shots she has dropped thus far have been spot on except for the artwork for ARTPOP‘s lead single “Applause” (dropping 8/19) which is kind of freaking me out. It probably has to do with the whole clown feel (Stephen King’s It with Pennywise forever ruined clowns for me) plus it doesn’t vibe with the other shots at all, it’s a bit weird and definitely nightmare material. More than anything right now, I’d kill to have a small listen to what “Applause” is going to sound like. Gaga can drum up excitement all she wants but if the music isn’t good, none of her efforts will matter much. Girlfriend has a lot riding on this, I hope for her sake it’s worth the overly long wait!
