The one weird thing I noticed about how people deal with celebrities is that, no matter how beautiful and actress is, people will always find a way to justify how “ugly” they are if they don’t like them. The underlying message is basically that good people can’t be unattractive and that if someone is conventionally good looking, they must be good. It’s sort of the reason why everyone was so amazed by Susan Boyle: She has a beautiful voice, but the fact that an average-looking woman can sing so beautifully just freaks people out. Poor Kristen Stewart. Not only has she reportedly lost Robert Pattinson for good, but now it seems that every other man in the UK hates her guts. In a recent poll conducted among males across the pond, the Twilight heroine was voted the ugliest female star in Hollywood. Ouch. Who conducted that poll? Better yet, who was in charge of tallying up the results. Liberty Ross? Assisted by Robert Pattinson’s sisters? “They were turned off by volatile and moody actresses,” the pollster revealed, ‘as well as ice queens. And they don’t want to see unhealthily skinny starlets on the big screen.”
Here’s the thing: Is Kristen a crap actress? Yes. Does she have a severely limited range? Yes. Is she a total douche who cheated on her boyfriend with a married father? Yes. But Kristen is still a pretty girl. She’s conventionally attractive, but she, as a person, is pretty awful. It’s entirely possible for someone to be hot and just absolutely soul-eroding.
