Last week I was invited to catch up-and-coming singer / songwriter Conway‘s show held at Los Angeles’ Museum of Natural History (as part of their First Fridays series). I heard of her late last year when she released her Big Talk EP (iTunes) which I enjoyed and peaked my curiosity enough to check her out live. I wasn’t sure quite what to expect but in the end I was thoroughly impressed by Conway. I thought she put on such a fantastic show (my first concert of the new year!) and appeared to be a seasoned performer with incredible stage presence and energy, she actually reminded me of a young Debbie Harry, certainly not a bad thing. Now I’m totally addicted to her EP (embedded below), the title track is so catchy and deserves to blow up big time (check out the music video below). After the show I got to chat with Conway for a few minutes and she was so lovely and totally down to earth, I am predicting big things for her this coming year as she preps to release her debut album via Columbia Records. She’ll be touring soon, opening up for St. Lucia, you can check dates here. In the end I was thrilled that I decided to attend her show, I had an excellent time (plus the venue was so unique). I seriously can’t wait to see what Conway has up her sleeve over the course of 2014.
