Katy Perry

I’m not sure what happened between the time Katy Perry released “California Gurls” and now, but apparently she really wants to distance herself from her candy-coated, blue-wigged days. After releasing the first teaser for her upcoming single, “Roar,” (off her upcoming album Prism due out on October 22nd) Katy released a new teaser video where she buries her former image. Literally. She holds a funeral for the spinny Candyland dress she wore during her Teenage Dream days, and I actually kind of dig it. I have a soft-spot for short movies that delve into the creepy and foreshadowing, and while it’s not particularly terrifying, there’s a tongue-in-cheek morbidity that I fall for.
