Justin Bieber’s mom thinks the Grammys blew it

Since Justin Bieber‘s mom — she has a name, but I don’t care (OK fine, Pattie Mallette) — has spent her entire life trying to turn her son into a famous pop star so that she could ride his coattails, it probably shouldn’t be all that surprising that she’s being a total weiner over the fact that her son didn’t get her a Grammy nomination. I mean himself. Bieber didn’t get himself a Grammy nomination. (I swear that was unintentional, but I enjoyed the Freudian slip too much to remove it.) Via HuffPo

“I think they blew it,” Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, told Alexa Chung while sitting down for an interview with FuseTV. “It’s my boy, I’m a little biased. I just heard that he’s had now five No. 1 albums, so I think his music is speaking for itself.” She said he was disappointed, but “I think it’s kind of good in a way. It gives him something to strive for and a goal to go for.”

Granted, if the only thing you do with your life is get knocked by a dumb hick when you’re a teenager, then try to rectify your mistake by raising your kid to be the star you never could be, you might as well go all-in. I mean, look at Dina Lohan: She failed at being famous and then tried to turn Lindsay Lohan into a superstar, and that went super well. Assuming you have very low-standards for parenting. And are totally cool with hitting babies with your car.
