Anyway, since Carly Rae Jepsen kinda sorta wrote the biggest song of the summer, she’s finally getting her own major album, which is set to include a duet with Justin Bieber. Or, just putting this out there, maybe all these songs are written by people who are trained to mass produce easily marketable songs that appeal to teenage girls who substitute celebrity worship with fulfilling, mature relationships, and the platitude that you’re a diamond in the rough who happens to be better than you think you are happens to be one of the biggest selling points for the swarms of insecure teens who buy into this. Seriously, there’s a One Direction store on Yonge street a couple blocks away from my apartment. On a windy day, I can literally smell the desperation that wafts off the building.
