To plug last night’s return of Community (which was really good, even if Dan Harmon was no longer there) the writers of the show went on Reddit to do an AMA, where they revealed that, not only do Troy and Abed have a floating couch and ottoman, but thanks to a hidden camera planted by Abed, there may or may not be a secret sex tape hidden in the continuity of the show. Ganz said is always surprised that fans find the easter eggs so fast. But running jokes, like the Beetlejuice gag, are favorites of fans and the writers alike. Also, remember how Abed had a camera set up in his college dorm, which caught Britta stealing a Kickpuncher DVD once? Does that mean that since Jeff and Britta had sex in his room that Abed has a tape of it? “We have discussed this in the writers’ room, actually. The general consensus was: Definitely,” Ganz said.
Well, there’s definitely been more than a few hook-up moments in Community‘s history — remember when Chang and Shirley did it before they became zombies and completely forgot about it? — so I don’t think it would be all that difficult to write a sex tape episode where the study group ends up accidentally seeing it. That is, if the show makes it through to another season.
