Ice Cube: Having a meltdown over the MTV Movie Awards

‘Best Onscreen Duo’ is one of those awards that they hand out at the MTV Movie Awards as a lighter, less serious award. Most people tend to regard the more fun awards as the fun little trophies they were supposed to be, and then there are those who just take things way too seriously. One of those people is Ice Cube, who apparently blew a gasket when the prize went to the late Paul Walker and Vin Diesel won it instead of him and Kevin Hart for Ride Along. USA Today reports …

“We was robbed,” Ice Cube tells USA Today. “Shame on you MTV.” The best screen duo award ended up going going to Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker for Fast & Furious 6. Ice Cube calls it a “sympathy” vote by fans, who chose the winners. “We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated, for us not to win was crazy,” says Ice Cube of his role with Hart. “We were the best onscreen duo, period. They should have gave it to him before he passed away,” Ice Cube says of Walker, who died in November 2013.

Bitch, it’s a popcorn shaped trophy. Voted on by teenagers. Given out by MTV. I’m not saying it isn’t nice to win one, but you’re taking this WAY too seriously, and it doesn’t exactly make me think they made the wrong decision. You weren’t robbed of anyone, because you weren’t entitled to jackshit. And most importantly, IT’S SHINY POPCORN, DOOFUS. Get over it.
