ghost (demo version)

after hearing the indigo girls guest on pink‘s dear mr. president song – it had me thinking of my dear girls amy ray & emily saliers aka the indigo girls – one of my favorite duo groups of all-time! i have never featured them here on my ‘monday .mp3’ column – so this week i just had to bring on the girls for y’all!

this week i have selected ghost one of their most beloved songs off their 1992 amazing album rites of passage – i have been so blessed to see these two ladies play live over twenty times – and everytime was a unique experience (i even got in a nasty fight with a mullet lady in arizona!) these gals are true to the bone & heart serious musicians – i just love how they write songs separately but then come together to bring the songs to life in amazing duet style – full o’ the most brilliant harmonies & melodies – this track here is actually the ‘demo version’ of the song which was recently released on their album rarities – this song is so touching and i think often we all are sometimes in love with ghosts (in many forms) from our past…popbytes over & out for now – xxoo!

There’s a letter on the desktop

That I dug out of a drawer

The last truce we ever came to

In our adolescent war

And I start to feel the fever

From the warm air through the screen

You come regular like seasons

Shadowing my dreams…
