I love unexpected surprises and this is a good one! One of my favorite directors, Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia), reunited with his former flame, Fiona Apple, to direct her new music video for the track “Hot Knife.” I thought the promotion of her 2012 album, The Idler Wheel… (iTunes), was long over so this is definitely a treat. It also happens to be one of the album’s best cuts and even features Fiona’s sister on vocals. I wonder what PT’s partner / baby mama, Maya Rudolph, thought of him directing Fiona’s video? Anyways, watch the video and let’s hope we hear more from Fiona soon, we certainly don’t want her to take another long hiatus from the music scene.
