I kind of forgot Drew Barrymore was pregnant and had a baby but thankfully she’s on the cover of March 2013’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine to remind us.
Looking back, I think I forgot because she was so secretive about everything. This was intentional, she says. “For a solid six weeks, I was hiding like the Unabomber. Because I live my life in the public eye, I didn’t want that for her.”
As for daughter Olive growing up in the public eye, Barrymore said, “I had such an exposed childhood … I appreciate my journey, but I don’t want that for my kid. Not any of it. It has nothing to do with whether I liked my childhood. I really did. But as a parent, that isn’t the childhood that I’d provide.”
The actual cover is kind of weird. It looks like a part of Drew’s face is missing. The fact that she looks incredibly washed out doesn’t help either. However, the spread inside is gorgeous. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Drew since she gave me my favorite film franchise ever—Charlie’s Angels.
