Did Justin Bieber rip off Aaron Carter?

Justin Bieber and Aaron Carter

Wait, is this one of those logic puzzles with no answers? Like, if a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? And if some adorable little mass-produced boy who looks like a lesbian makes a video that’s similar to that of an earlier adorable little lesbian boy, does it really matter? If you can find the answer to that, you will find true happiness. Or is it true sadness? I get those confused sometimes. Entertainment Weekly reports …

On Monday, Aaron Carter tweeted, “Justin Bieber’s new video reminds me of my video for Aaron’s Party.” Carter is referring to Bieber’s new self-directed video for his duet with Nicki Minaj, “Beauty and the Beat.” While the two videos are different — and Carter certainly didn’t say it was a rip-off — he’s got a point. For anyone who was the right tween age for “Aaron’s Party,” the “Beauty” video was bound to bring back a few PG-rated house party memories. (Although Carter’s party never had the star grinding against Nicki Minaj).

Wait, is this … is this actually happening? I don’t think Justin Bieber would voluntarily rip off a twelve-year-old video, and even if he did, do you really want to take credit for a Justin video? Really? That’s like leaving an upper decker at a crowded party and telling the entire room it was you.
