I’ve been on the fence when it comes to singer / songwriter Charli XCX (responsible for writing Icona Pop’s “I Love It”) but after hearing her brand-new single today, “SuperLove,” I’ve totally become a full-fledged fan. This song is lietrally everything, I loved it right away with it’s strong 80’s vibe, and the music video shot over in Tokyo is so much fun. Although Charli released her (fairly decent) debut album True Romance (iTunes) a few months ago, she’s already onto her sophomore effort (due out sometime next year), and this track happens to be the album’s lead single. Sadly it won’t be available to purchase until December 1st, but for now we can just keep replaying the video while dancing our asses off! Charli will also be touring North America this fall, you can check dates and buy tickets here.
“SuperLove” is a song about running away and falling in love with someone and it being really dangerous and bad for you but still amazing, romantic and wonderful. SuperLove is the best drug and this song is about overdosing on it and falling in real deep — Charli XCX
