You never really ditch your Disney princess image until you eventually play a sex worker in a movie or a TV show (See: Hilary Duff in War Inc., Vanessa Hudgens in Sucker Punch, Lindsay Lohan in I Know Who Killed Me … literally, you can name any Disney starlet and I can tell you the exact moment in their career they flashed their boobies.) so of course, here comes Ashley Tisdale to finally shed her pretty princess image by playing an escort in a guest arc on FX’s Sons of Anarchy. Yahoo! reports:
In an even further departure from her Disney past, Tisdale will play Emma Jean, a pricey escort who makes things complicated for the SAMCRO motorcycle club when she shows up on the scene. The 26-year-old Tisdale, who will star in the upcoming Scary Movie 5, joins a number of new additions for the series’ fifth season, including former Lost starHarold Perrineau, who will play SAMCRO gang rival Damon Pope, and former NYPD Blue star Jimmy Smits, who will portray Neron “Nero” Padilla, a gang member who ends up mentoring newly installed SAMCRO president Jackson “Jax” Teller.
I have to give Ashley credit where credit is due: she is really good at picking scripts. I mean yes, those damn High School Musical movies became way bigger than they had any right to be, but even then she was the best part of the movie, and has since redeemed herself by consistently good at picking some really great projects. Also, she did voice work for Phineas and Ferb, which I think we can all agree is the best thing Disney has made in a long time.
