‘Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea’ is coming to NBC!

Chelsea Handler

First, let me just say: I like Chelsea Handler, I really do. I have all her books, and I think she’s hilariously funny. That being said, the upcoming NBC sitcom based off her book, Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea looks … bad. Really bad. This looks like it was created by a group of English as a Forty-Second Language students who read the dust cover of her book and thought “Let’s see … drunk blonde bitch who fucks red heads? We can make this work.” All I’m saying is that the show could, and SHOULD, have been way better than all of this. Watch the clip below and see what you think.

Chelsea Handler, it seems, is slowly taking over all of Hollywood. Already the host of Chelsea Lately and After Lately on E!, and the just-announced star of horror-comedy Mall, Handler is heading to network TV; her sitcom pilot for NBC has just been optioned to series for next year. Based on her memoir, Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, Handler will executive produce and co-star as Sloane Hanson, fictionalized version of her older sister. Laura Prepon, best known as Donna from That 70’s Show, will play the role of Chelsea. SOURCE
