hey y'all - so i thought to try to bring back a column i had done a few times in the past - for the most part it was always fun to write - and was sorta just anything going on in the moment - i like just tossing myself out there - gosh i am so dreading monday - the weekend is always so darn quick! if you blink it's gone :(
scariest places on earth - ABC Family has been running marathons all day yesterday & today (on their 13 days of halloween good time programs!) - i love spooky shows like this ( linda blair hosts - and zelda rubenstein lends her voice) - and seeing people all scared can be kinda exciting - watching this show is about as close as i would get to spending a night in any haunted castle - i like to be scared but in the comforts of my own home - i would for sure give myself a heart attack from fear alone! you might call me a nervous nelly - i do believe in ghosts but they say curiousity did kill the cat - i would be jetting in the other direction - towards the exit!
saturday night live kinda totally sucked last night - they had catherine zeta-jones (she did look great) do every accent imaginable - enough was enough - i did enjoy the return of tina fey after being on pregnancy leave - and funny lady maya rudolph had a little girl last week and named her pearl! congrats to maya - but we miss you already - come back soon! franz ferdinand's performance was a high point for the show last night - maybe next week will be better - lance armstrong will host - and his fiance sheryl crow will be the musical guest - and we all know i love ms. crow dearly...i just hope SNL picks up this season - when it's good it's good - but when it sucks - it really sucks :(
dodgeball - so over here in hollywood - i have digital cable from comcast - which i like - but i kept hearing about all this 'on demand' programming - and for some reason - i didn't think i had that feature - so i was tooling around with my remote (it is one of the most confusing ones i ever did see - and usually i am good with that stuff) and then boom - i landed into the land of 'on demand' - i was thrilled - i had a bunch of stuff i could watch from HBO - including movies and such - so i hadn't seen dodgeball yet - so i settled into that - and was a pure hoot - i loved it - ben stiller was great - and i love vince vaughn - so i was happy all around with my new anytime access to some good programming - woo hoo!
saw 2 - oh my gosh - this comes out on friday - and i can't wait - the first one was so great - edge of your seat - and scary as hell - i hope this one delivers like the first one - check out the website over at saw2.com - oh i love this time of year - spooky and scary abound!

hey kids - popbytes so needed a break from everything - i went to the beach today - down near san diego at torrey pines state beach - i swear it's the best beach in southern california - we even saw dolphins quite close to shore - but i'm so red - i did burn of course (yes mom - i did wear sunscreen but only 15spf - next time i promise to use 30) - but i'm a big boy and shall deal - however overall i feel re-energized, relaxed & ready for the pop week ahead - so what else is going down kids?
MTV music video awards 2005 - yeah i am gonna watch - MTV is not one of my favorites - due to many things - too long to get into (i used to work on their online properties - long live sonicnet.com) - but i am excited to see the performances - that's really the only reason to watch anyways!
but fuck i hate r. kelly - gosh screw him - seriously i can't stand him - i believe he can fly away and never bother us again - i can't fucking stand him - fuck i'm watching the show - why waste 'precious' minutes on this ASSHOLE - can u believe this shit? :)
good night, and good luck - on wednesday i am going to an advance screening of the new george clooney movie (he directs & stars) - all about the 50's & the communist witch hunt (HUAC) that took place right here in the USA - it was shot in black/white - i love b/w movies - and overall it does look stunning (my dear patricia clarkson also stars - along with robert downey jr) - plus what a fascinating time in american history - so i will fill you in on what i think when i see it...(it opens in theaters on oct 7th)
so sept is almost here - gosh this summer flew by - i am quite excited for some returning shows this fall (ie lost) - as well as some new ones (ie invasion) - it sure does look to be a busy month (plus i am seeing tori amos twice in concert! once in santa barbara & once here in LA) so rock on - just wanted to check in and say HELLO!...so HELLO & now goodbye - popbytes out for now...xxoo
oh gosh - its like all about the holidays and such - but popbytes is looking beyond into 2005 already! january actually looks to be quite a filled month of pop goodies! there is all that talk about the fox special due jan 3rd - who's your daddy? where a woman can guess who her biological father is and win $100,000 and have some sort of heart filled moment/reunion in front of like millions of people... tonight im just really excited for the next installments of desperate housewives and the ever kooky but oh so fun boston legal - i had my xmas office party on wednesday night - and i did have a blast but got a drop too tipsy - as i was sick the next day - but everyone agreed i was one of the best parts of the party! so i have been taking it easy - i even settled into a viewing of that halle berry flick gothika it was ok - for watching on tv and relaxing it was quite decent - and sat night live last night was quite fun too - bob deniro hosted - and destinys child rocked on with beyonce's bad self and were quite excellent! i promise to be in full swing this week - january is looking good as i mentioned before...so stay tuned - popbytes isnt going anywhere! out for now!

so whats been going on - well i thought it was the season finale of six feet under but alas
hbo is stretching it out for another week - so tonight on hbo its the 3rd season premiere of the
wire followed by 2 of da ali g show which is a recent discovery of mine - along with my
good friend cathy - its kinda crude humor - but very entertaining and very funny and quite
smart
i know you all have lives but did you get to see the complex malibu on friday? can you
believe that couple from yes wrong island - oh their bad taste and behavior is despicable - i so
cant wait to see them leave and eat shit - go back to hauppauge - assholes (sorry mom & dad who
still remain trapped on li - i just cant bear that place - sorry - mom we will get you out to
california someday! we can win over dad too!) - so i know some people are not so hot on the whole
malibu show - but im down - its quite good - its like a mix of home makeover, big brother, and
survivor all rolled into one fox hit!
fox is so crazy - i was just musing that the biggins family who just traded moms, then renovated
their family - im convinced that fox now must do a swan family - and give plastic surgery to the
whole family - can you imagine that transformation - first one family traded spouses, then they
renovated their house & spirit - and then the renovated their faces - they can be like a fox family
- after the plastic surgery they live in a permanent fox camera-rigged house - it could be the
longest running show in history - so hey biggins family and fox what do you think??? stay tuned this
week for another fox renovated family - and then abc brings out the big guns with 'the original'
wife swap - this time spouses are traded for 2 whole weeks! oh my!

spoiler alert it wasnt on saturday night due to football - but i do know that marvin indeed put
up cowboy and adria - and karen won the power of veto - and decided not to use it - say goodbye
adria! - and as bb5 comes to an end - cbs has survivor 9 - waiting for us - i havent done too much
research on the new cast but i did hear there are two open lesbians - so that should be fun and
wild! and tomorrow night be on the look out for the premiere of fox's the complex malibu - a new reality
show where couples compete in some sort of renovation face off - looks promising - and then tuesday
say tuned to fox for trading spouses - this time with dads switching families
oh those mtv award things have been a complete bore so far - j lopez was okay - but she seemed publically
distant from hubby marc - who knows whats going on - i havent spotted that britney at all - i was so
hoping that maybe this was all one big punked trick - but i doubt it - britney has really gone to
trash - xtina looked adorable - and im anxiously awaiting her performance - and those kerry & bush
daughters seemed so out of place - but how great was that sarah jessica parker shimmying down to
music god lenny kravitz - i ponder this - how much did they pay lenny & sarah - and how much did
they pay to air it? mucho dinero friends! they have always had killer ad campaigns - and lets just
say - supermodel so out - celebrity in and here to stay! just to be kind i will link to the site

and the rumor is sarah (along w/ hubby matthew) wants another baby - if you havent checked out my darling cyber goddess friend danielle's blog - celebrity babies - i swear you wont even believe how much is happening in the world of celebs having kids - its pretty insane - and i just read that brad pitt and jenny aniston are considering adoption - it looks like a nicole & tom dilemma to me - and im all for adoption - i mean they are already here - im so over people having kids to fufill themselves and insure they have someone to depend on when they are older - you certainly cannot count on that - so dont be having babes casually!

oh my miss björk (aka wolf baby - an inside joke only a few were privy to) -
quite the musical prodigy queen a combo that includes a healthy dose of eccentricity - coupled with
an amazingly haunting & beautiful original voice - that stands out strong, stark & brilliant in
today's overly populated (or flooded?!?) mish-mash scene of popular music - she probably isnt for everyone (an acquired taste
delicately enjoyed and cherished by her supremely rabid & loyal fans) - but i recommend check out
her latest album - medúlla (at least take a stop-over in her very well designed and
maintained website) - a truly inspired and imaginative journey that combines an eclectic mix of
electronic bleeps and blurs with the vocal genius of the lady at hand - for some of you not up and
up with music - she recently performed her new single oceania at the opening ceremonies in
athens - a powerful and breathless performance all flowing into a spectacle that no one should have
missed - so the album is due to hits stores on aug 30th - and expect singles as well as dvd releases galore - she is quite the media queen too! and if she comes to LA - popbytes is so there! |

big brother 5it all came crashing down on the twins - as head of household nicomas - placed
both adria and twin natalie on the chopping block - shes a smart cookie - and even if one of the
twins wins the power of veto - its destined for one of the twins to leave...and then have to go to
the sequestered jury house - and join a very angry but still cute will (the most recent evictee) - that should be a
fun scene!
the assistantoh that andy dick is so wild and crazy - oh my word is all i can utter - its kinda
like a mock of the apprentice - with 'the donald' being replaced by the absolutely loony + off his
rocker comedian aka andy dick - i watched about three episodes - and i think will tune in for more - to
catch some of the really crazy antics dick is putting his 'assistants' thru - all to win a chance at
a real hollywood assistant job - anyone who can handle him and live to tell about it surely deserves
something!
go ahead and just try and tear yrself away from the olympic games in athens (they are on until fri!) - and make sure to tune into HBO tonight -
starting with the first of the last three episodes of the very half-baked and mediocre (thats putting it nicely) season
of six feet under - tonights episode (#49) is entitled the black forest - thank heavens this season seemed to fly on by (rather than walk on by) - and hopefully when they
return the fischer clan and company will be back in first-class form! and after that keep it there - for entourage followed by new fun show i just picked up da ali g show - and you can even stay after that for def poetry jam with talented rapper mos def as MC

so popbytes is a huge björk fan - so i was stoked to find out from trent that the
special album area went live on her site - you can check out a video for the single 'oceania' -
which is a brilliant underwater jellyfish filled excursion with the queen bee of eccentricity and
raw unmatched talent! this looks to be a great album - so im sure you will be hearing more and more
as the date of release grows closer! and i hope you all caught her amazingly beautiful performance
at the opening of the olympics - twas brilliant - moving - and so björk-esque! you go girl! |

can i just say the olympics in athens are like cracked - you take a little and you want more! i
swear i cant turn em off - i still prefer the winter games...BUT - from fencing to swimming - and
yes kayaking!! so please be sure to check out all the festivities and games over at nbc - and there
have been some great new commercials in rotation - of course with a heavy dose of whats coming down
the pike for the fall season...expect a huge thing in sept on the fall schedule!
paris hilton's beloved tiny dog - tinkerbell has gone missing! this is so sad - first she dates nick
carter, then she gets all bruised up from god knows what, her and sis nikki get their pad broken
into, and now her dog is gone! cant she get a break? i think she wishes it was easy breezy sex tape

i have heard great things on collateral - but whats really got me jonsing to go to the movies - is that new flick open water - i cant tell you how many times i have talked to people here in LA who want to create a 'blair witch' buzz around their films - and i really think that was such a one time event (even i was fooled until opening day) - but this film looks to have a real 'blair witch' quality - has sorta an amateur look to the filming style - and features two unknown actors - stranded by their scuba boat - who have to tough it out in the water amongst all the fun sea creatures (aka sharks) that are all abound - every time i see the commercial i get chills - i think i might actually be stressed at the movie theater - which is kinda the feeling you want to get (rather than feeling nothing as in chorus line) - so i would love to hear from anyone who has taken a dip in open water |
oh popbytes was mixing with some celebs last night - good gal melissa took me to a swanky cast party for dear bernard a new musical that was actually penned but one of the gals from the murmurs a chick band from the nineties who are really great - and i had actually seen them at fez in nyc around 97 - so when i heard she penned the show - i was quite impressed - but let me tell ya - that laurel canyon area is crazy - i swear we had a half a mile hike in the dark up hills on not the smoothest pavement going - and poor melissa was in heels -so popbytes escorted her up and then back down the hill - but the view was amazing - the house was swank - and popbytes saw jorga fox from csi who was a producer on the show (and looked adorable) and i think there was some of the cast from the l word on showtime but i dont watch so i couldn't be sure - so be sure to check out the site dear bernard - and thanks for a fun date melissa! next time no heels in the hills!

hey kids - its been a while since i had some time to sit down and gather my thoughts - its been a
wild week - and outfest is almost over - so i should be back on the beat this week - couple of
pointers though...
congrats to michael moore - he got my parents to go see fahrenheit 9/11 - which is pretty amazing
considering its a documentary and all - not normally my folks type o' movie - but i really hope and
think they will enjoy this brilliantly funny & fascinating - as well as eye opening film - so i will
keep you all filled in on that front

big brother 5 is in full swing - and what a swing it is - who knew that adria had a twin nicole -
wild - and watching them switch places is wild - if the girls can keep the charade up for 5 weeks -

- princess menses??? - how great was that - and altho dr. troy is an ass - he is an ass who has a
heart - and is to die for hot hot hot! i must get a hold of the season 1 dvd - and see how this all
began!

'girl you need to sit yr ass down and calm down - i know you can be free and as crazy as one with millions can be - but without the
public adoration - yr millions will soon be spent on junk and ginseng - and no pre nuptial with
