He says: “I just love being as naked as possible all the time. It feels really natural to me.”

When you look hot, being naked isn’t so daunting. This is a very welcome side effect to being in shape. More nakedness! If/when Adam puts on some bigger muscles (he’s naturally thin but I’m guessing TV will have him hitting the gym) that’s when he’ll be even more naked even more of the time (if that’s possible). Ever notice how everyone from Taylor Lautner to Joel McHale suddenly started stripping down to show off how they’re all buff and stuff? That’s not just the Hollywood ego effect. You can have your very own head trip thanks to your local gym!

Kellan Lutz and Zac Efron have a playdate!

FitnessBytes with Wes FergusonIt’s not difficult to imagine Kellan Lutz and Zac Efron enjoying man-on-man playtime (I’ll let that dirty daydream marinate for a moment … aaaand we’re back) the two are in fact fond of playing around — on the playground.

Both muscle hunks have been spotted working it out away from the gym. Zac hit up a jungle gym while on a break from filming in Louisiana, while Kellan got pumped on the rings at the Santa Monica pier.

Who needs a gym? Anybody can take advantage of their surroundings and turn them into makeshift exercise machines. Not near a park? Since nobody reads books, you can use them as dumbells. Milk or water jugs also make great free weights. (see more weight & gym free exercises on my blog)

Point is, its summer. Get out and play. If you get too hot and tired to go on, there are always hotties awaiting to be ogled. Hey, eyeballs are muscles too! *W*

David Beckham voted hottest bitch on the planet!

FitnessBytes with Wes FergusonSure, I posted about David Beckham last week. I have a problem, ok? It seems the rest of the world is equally infatuated, so you’ll just have to deal with a continued onslaught of sweaty shirtless photos of the world’s hottest bitch. A recent poll conducted by LA Fitness named him Male Body of the Year. Becks beat out Brad Pitt, Ryan Reynolds and Daniel Craig!

I think Becks gives a lot of people hope. I mean really — if this pigeon chested, Micky Mouse voiced ball dribbler can captivate the world, it’s not like the stakes have been set impossibly high. Whatever whacked out body issues we might have, we should all learn to embrace the things that make us unique. Some of us are tall, or short, or wide-set or more narrow boned. Trust me, somebody out there is into it. So stop worrying, freaks!

Becks needs a butt rub!

FitnessBytes with Wes FergusonDavid Beckham delivered yet another delicious shot on the soccer field recently — checking a bruise on his upper thigh. Way upper thigh. His butt.

If some hot stud on the playing field has an injury, it presents an opportunity to tend to his wounds. In effect, grope said player in many potentially inappropriate ways — in the name of medicine, or whatever. Hippocratic oath. You get to touch them. When presented with this opportunity (or, more likely, when you hurt yourself falling off the elliptical machine at the gym), you should know how to treat a sports in jury.

Use the RICE method:

  • Rest – The first mistake is to keep going, tough guy. If you get hurt, just stop and deal with it to prevent further injury. Unlike Becks, nobody reading this is making millions playing some stupid game.
  • Ice – Most people think heat helps an injury, but you first want t numb the area and stops blood flow to decrease swelling.
  • Compression – Keep pressure on the wound to further decrease swelling and support the injured joint.
  • Elevation – Again making sure there’s as little blood flow as possible by using gravity to reduce swelling in the injured area.

All this talk of areas and pressure points is totally getting me hot! Am I the only one? *W*

I’M WORRIED JONAH HILL!!! OMG ARE YOU MANOREXIC?!? I don’t know, and I’m an such an ass for saying he looks weird. BUT I’M CONCERNED!!!

Here’s why: NHS figures have shown a 66 per cent increase in hospital admissions in England for male eating disorders over the last decade. “Exercise is a major factor with eating disorders in men in particular,” a NHS spokesperson said. “They become obsessed with exercising every single day, if not more, and it can take over their life without them realizing there may be a more deep-seated reason behind it … eating disorders are serious psychological conditions which can kill.” See top signs of an eating disorder on my blog.

Joe Manganiello: A ‘Muscle & Fitness’ monster!

FitnessBytes with Wes FergusonNaturally huge bitches like Joe Manganiello are the reason so many guys do steroids. This dude stands at six and a half feet tall and trained DOWN to 220 pounds. He’s a monster!

If there were anyone deserving a Muscle & Fitness cover, well, wait until next month (just kidding Joe!). The actor was interviewed by the men’s fitness magazine for a very hardcore feature on his transformation for True Blood (see celebrity body transformation pics on my blog).

The program is a six-days-on, one-day-off body-part split-with cardio done every day; broken into three workouts to be performed twice per week: chest and legs on Monday and Thursday, shoulders and biceps on Tuesday and Friday, and back and triceps on Wednesday and Saturday — coupled with a restricted-calorie diet. M&F literally warns people the routine should only be done in limited periods of time.

This kind of training is completely insane — but proven quick fixes if you’re looking to really push yourself. It’s totally impressive and really interesting to see how far some people can push themselves, but training like this isn’t realistic for the average person looking to maybe lose a few pounds or just get into better overall shape.

How ‘True Blood’ hottie Stephen Moyer gets motivated!

He tells Men’s Health magazine how he motivates himself — by not wanting to look like a fatty next to his muscular costars. He adds: “I didn’t want my kids to look back at the show in 20 years’ time and go, ” ‘Who’s that slobby git? Oh, it’s you, Dad.’”

Vain much? Sure, but whatever works! Even so, he says he just can’t do it on his own, something many people have in common. They can get the gym membership and hit the floor, but after like 20 minutes they’re tired and want a cheeseburger. The solution? If you don’t have the money for a trainer, finding a fitness buddy is an equally great motivator — because it makes you more accountable. You’re less likely to flake if you have a plan to meet a friend for a hike, jog or an hour at the gym. Everything is better with a buddy (see more on the buddy system)

My friend (and celebrity trainer) Lalo Fuentes has some good news if you’re afraid to indulge with eat a big meal. Guess what? You’re allowed to eat.

Many of his clients worry that a night of access will ruin everything. Not so, he says:

“Weight gain comes from consecutive bulging, so the night of that dinner party enjoy yourself … your body can only absorb so much and will get rid of the rest later that night. Next morning, go back to your regular healthy routine instead of eating the leftovers from the night before. Drink plenty of water before, during and after dinner to help your body get rid of all the unhealthy stuff you just put in your mouth — plus it will fill you up quicker. Make sure to eat plenty of food loaded with fiber during your meals to keep yourself regular and get rid of all the fat, carbs and toxins as soon as you can.”

This is not a green light to binge and purge, but rather a rational guideline to enjoying yourself. Even those models have a hamburger once in a while. Live it up now and then (see more with Lalo on my blog)!

FitnessBytes: You can’t fight genetics!

Here’s the lesson: You can fucking kill yourself to get the physical results you want (like a small frame transformed into a larger one), but you’ll always be fighting it. You’re not a movie star like Taylor and you don’t need to bulk up (or slim down) to make money. Be yourself. Accept your body type for what it is and get over it already!

That’s NOT to say we can’t make self-improvements, because duh. Given the choice I think most would probably prefer a 6-pack — and even with his weight loss there is little doubt TLaut lost his lickable tummy. His trainer revealed the moves he uses to whip the Twilight twink into shape:

Five Key Moves to Taylor’s Ripped Abs

  1. Leg raises — 12 reps, 2 sets each
  2. Diagonal isometrics — 3 reps per side, 8 seconds each
  3. Breathing exercise 1 — Inhale for 5 seconds and slowly exhale, 3 reps
  4. Breathing exercise 2 — While taking quick breaths, tighten, inhale, and exhale, 12 reps
  5. Ball crunches — 17 reps
