hey y'all! hot on the heels of her recent UK performance (wardrobe malfunction and all) on the x factor - ms. whitney houston took to the stage over in milan appearing on the italian version of the x factor - she performed million dollar bill again and totally kicked ass - she's sounding better & better with each performance! whitney's planning a european tour this spring - i'm going to try my hardest to be at her london show - i MUST be there! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
i know i just did a post about whitney houston the other day but i am literally obsessed with ms. houston (as most of you know by now) and i'm beyond thrilled everything is going so super fine for her right now! (she even beat mariah carey - whitney's new album debuted at #1 - ms. carey's entered the charts at #3 - us whitney fans totally have a reason to celebrate!) now some people have made comments to me about her voice not being the same - sadly i have to agree - her vocals are not what they used to be but she can still sing better than i can and it pains me to say anything bad about ms. houston ... i ain't got nothin' but love for her - so to all the haters - it's time to step off! after her stellar performance on wetten dass in germany - she headed over to france for more promotion of i look to you - this time she sang million dollar bill - one of my favorite tracks (here's the music video) written by the incomparable alicia keys! watch the video below plus there's pictures of her leaving her paris hotel (she brought along her daughter bobbi kristina for company) girlfriend easily could have stayed on drugs in her shit marriage - but thankfully she decided to pick herself up and move on - she didn't know her own strength - yet i did all along! popbytes over & out for tonight ... xoxo
hey hey! even though whitney houston's new album i look to you was released over a month ago - i might as well came out yesterday for me - i still can't stop listening! for some reason it just took over - i truly love each and every track! i've calmed down a little bit with it since i don't want to get sick of ms. houston but i must get in at least one listen everyday! the other night i said on twitter i'm probably obsessed because we didn't hear from whitney for seven long years - i'm just making up for lost time! somebody tipped me off earlier today that 'nippy' performed in germany on this show called wetten dass - below is the video of her singing the album's title track - she totally kicked ass - and managed to look beyond fabulous! (you can watch her interview - complete with german translations here) supposedly she's going to do a small tour in february/march - you can bet your bottom dollar i will be there - hopefully in the front row - i gotta support my girl! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
PS you can download an .mp3 of whitney's stirring performance of i look to youhere!
hey everyone! here's yet another brand new whitney houston video (we had one last week too) for million dollar bill (written by the lovely alicia keys) the official first single off her new album i look to you - she totally looks like a million dollar bill - it's beyond wonderful having ms. houston back again after a seven-year absence! i totally loved the whole interview with oprah winfrey ... it was riveting - girlfriend was calm, cool and collected - she didn't refuse to answer anything, she told the truth and didn't try to cover anything up! i'm such on a whitney high right now - i simply can't say enough about her - my love runs deep - long live ms. houston! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
oh what else can i say about whitney houston that i haven't said already? i'm all about her new #1 album - and below is the brand new video for the title track i look to you - ms. houston looks amazing - it's a very simple yet totally effective video! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
before i sign off for the evening - i simply had to send out a big congratulations to my gal whitney houston whose amazing new album i look to you topped the charts this week in the U.S. - with 304,801 copies sold (she also was number one in canada, germany, italy, and switzerland) this is ms. houston's biggest debut ever - plus it's the top female debut of the 2009 (so far) hopefully that record will stand ... perhaps mariah carey's new album memoirs of an imperfect angel can top whitney's but i don't think so (sorry mimi ... or shall we call you mary p. from now on? i do love you but right now it's all about ms. houston) the album is still in heavy rotation for me - i've totally fallen in love with it - yet keep in mind i do admit to being a huge whitney fan ... i know fellow fans are just as pleased as i am! right now i'm all about the tracks nothin' but love and call you tonight - but i really like the whole thing - there's not one song i don't care for! popbytes over & out for tonight ... xoxo
good evening! i feel like i'm running whitney houston central lately ... i've been so jacked up and excited over her triumphant brand new album (i've tweeted about it plenty!) which is already the top-seller on itunes! i'm hoping and praying i look to you will top the billboard charts! of course i downloaded a copy on itunes and just this evening i picked up a physical copy of the album - i can't stop listening to it! thankfully whitney's comeback is going smoothly - i was worried her new release might be a complete disaster - but it turned out to be just the opposite - our gal is finally back! tomorrow on good morning america she'll be singing a few songs - the mini-concert was taped earlier today in NYC's central park - where 2,000 super lucky fans got to see ms. houston for free! now apparently from what i've read her voice did crack a couple of times and she blamed it on chatting up a storm with oprah winfrey (their chat airs on september 14th) the unfortunate part is that her voice definitely took a hit (that's what smoking crack will do to a person) but she still sounds fantastic at age 46 ... she certainly can sing better than i (or most people) do! please help support my gal ms. houston by making sure to pick up a copy of the album! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
oh happy day! who cares that it's monday ... today happens to be the big release day for whitney houston's highly-anticipated (and overly delayed) comeback album i look to you! i've been listening to the album non-stop since it leaked last week ... initially i wasn't super keen on it but the album's a grower - i can't stop playing it now - i think it's really solid! i've been patiently waiting for this album for seven years now - and it turned out to be well worth the long wait! it's not overly ambitious and doesn't try to be super relevant - whitney does what she does best - she just sings some good ass songs - i know whitney fans will totally be pleased! plus as an added bonus ... she's off the whack crack and she's no longer married to mr. shady aka bobby brown (hell to the yes!) two of the best things that could have happened! expect a whitney media blitz soon - she's singing on good morning america on wednesday (september 2nd) and she'll be sitting down for an in-depth chat with oprah winfrey on september 14th! (oprah's season premiere) below you'll find a hot remix (from peter rauhofer) of her track i didn't know my own strength - and please pick up a copy of the album - we really need to bring ms. houston to the top of all the charts! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo

good morning! so yesterday was legendary diva whitney houston's 46th birthday and right now girlfriend has a lot to celebrate ... she's no longer a dirty crack whore ... she's not married to sketchy bobby brown anymore ... plus as a topper she's on the verge of her highly-anticipated and extremely long overdue comeback album i look to you which drops august 31st (just in time to make the cut for possible grammy nominations - pre-order it on itunes) a few weeks ago i had the extraordinary pleasure of attending a star-studded listening party here in los angeles and out of the nine tracks i heard - this one called million dollar bill (written by alicia keys) is one of the best the album has to offer - hell to the yes! i'm beyond thrilled she's back on the scene plus i'm super curious to see how her new material is received both critically and commercially! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
oh my gosh! tonight i was so very fortunate to attend a listening party (complete with drinks and hors d'oeuvres) over at the beverly hilton for the brand new whitney houston album i look to you (her first album in seven years!) hosted by legendary music mogul clive davis and ms. houston herself! of course there were a bunch of stars in attendance including: jane fonda, halle berry, stevie wonder, brian mcknight, barry manilow, beverly johnson, penny marshall, jackie collins, magic johnson, brett ratner, and diane warren! (before we were ushered into the main room - i was chatting a little bit with penny marshall - she's such a character!) mr. davis spoke before each of the nine tracks were played (giving a little insight on the song at hand including who wrote & produced it) on the last track (an incredible cover of a song for you) whitney came out - everyone jumped up - she looked amazing - i even got a little emotional & misty - for awhile i thought we had lost her but thankfully i'm super happy to report - girlfriend is back - and in a major way! (and she has left the drugs and her messy baggage (aka ex-hubby bobby brown) in the past)
i must say i really liked all nine tracks (even the ones written by r. kelly (including the title track) who i don't really care for) there's definitely a couple of hits in the making on the album (fans will be pleased) a few ballads and plenty of more upbeat tracks (the alicia keys penned track million dollar bill should be dropping soon on the radio) i seriously can't wait to get my paws on a copy when it lands in stores on september 1st! a huge thanks goes out to my peeps who helped me secure a spot at tonight's unforgettable event - i still can't believe i was in the same room as stevie wonder & jane fonda - listening to new whitney houston songs - a totally incredible and magical experience! finally i must give a quick shout-out to my new pal mariah (not THAT mariah) who i met tonight - she was very friendly and since i was by myself it was nice to chat with her (i did see a couple of people in the room whom i've met before but they decided to ignore me - including one little dude who used to work in my building - i've seen and said hi to him many times but tonight he acted like he didn't know me ... los angeles is sure full of shady bitches!) popbytes over & out for tonight ... xoxo
PS i wish i had pictures or audio to share but they were pretty strict about snapping pics - and of course they didn't want anyone to record & leak songs!
