my girl beyoncé was spotted by photographers on the balcony of her hotel in rio de janeiro - it looks like girlfriend just woke up (from either a sweet dream or a beautiful nightmare!) if you ever wondered what ms. knowles sleeps in at night - now you know! popbytes over & out for tonight ... xoxo
well then you need to watch this great video put together by ryan james yezak and friends - this should definitely tide you over until the real telephone video with both lady gaga & beyoncé premieres later this month (NY magazine has a sneak peek!) popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
good evening! let's all give up for beyoncé - girlfriend walked off with six grammy awards the other night (they should have given her all ten she was nominated for!) now she's celebrating the release of her very first fragrance heat which is apparently selling quite well (i saw an interview with her and she claims it's the number one scent in the country right now!) below are some pictures of ms. knowles at macy's in new york city earlier today (thumbs down on the dress) i could have sworn she's had other fragrances - i'm surprised she waited this long! i think paris hilton has ten fragrances under her belt already - that's way too much - who the hell is buying 'em? popbytes over & out for tonight ... xoxo
it's finally here! the brand new music video for beyoncé's single video phone (the extended remix version) featuring lady gaga! i certainly wouldn't say it's the best video ever (it does look kind of cheap) but i really like seeing these two ladies bust a move together ... let's just all hope the video for their other collaboration telephone kicks total ass! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
hey hey! oh yes - we've got yet another leak from lady gaga's upcoming release the fame: monster - it's called telephone and features my gal beyoncé ... it's another stellar track (listen below) all of gaga's new material is seriously on fire - my head is about explode (in a good way!) this will supposedly be the follow-up single to bad romance (i'm still watching the video over & over again!) also the other collaboration between gaga and ms. knowles leaked today - a remix of video phone (the video was pushed back until november 23rd) i was never really into that track to begin with however gaga adds a nice touch to the track (listen here) popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
good evening! i'm still reeling from last night's beyoncé show - her i am... tour stopped by los angeles' staples center and put on a truly incredible show ... i liked this show way better than her last outing (two years ago) for the beyoncé experience which just tried too hard - this time around girlfriend had a perfectly balanced show and showcased what she truly does best - singing & dancing! when i purchased my VIP ticket a few months ago - i wasn't sure if the price i paid for my 2nd row floor seat would be worth it - but i'd gladly spend it again - it was worth every hard-earned cent - my view was perfect (mom tina knowles was sitting right in front of me) it was amazing to see B do her thing from just a few feet away! during get me bodied my mug ended up being flashed on the jumbotron screens like three times - i was beyond excited! (plus i was twittering & dancing up a storm) the set list (posted below) was a perfect mix of new & old material - i can't even begin to tell you guys how much i enjoyed the show ... i'd seriously love to see it again - beyoncé is a true performer - and managed to put out tons of high energy and good vibes into the audience ... everyone around me was eating up every bit of it! (at the end she sang halo and did a small tribute to michael jackson which was particularly touching since less than a week ago - his coffin was at the very same venue) when all was said and done - i was totally beat - i can't even imagine how she must feel after giving it her all - if she's coming to a city near you - i'd highly suggest picking up tickets to see ms. knowles - you will not be disappointed - she's a force to be reckoned with! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
good evening! this week has been flying by - i can't believe tomorrow is already friday! right now i've got the brand new beyoncé music video for her track sweet dreams off her album i am sasha fierce - i completely adore the song and the video is super hot (dare i say fierce!) this coming monday i'm going to see ms. knowles in concert at staples center ... i cannot wait! i will be sitting in the 2nd row - a seat i paid way too much for but i simply couldn't resist seeing beyoncé doing her thing up close & personal - even though i wasn't crazy about her last concert - from the pictures i've seen of her current tour - this show looks much better - i'll totally be getting down to single ladies (while twittering) it's going to be an awesome evening! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
good evening! here's a quick follow-up post to the one i did last week on beyoncé's new thierry mugler designed costumes for her i am... world tour ... below is your first look seeing the designs in booty shaking action! ms. knowles was in vancouver last night for the 4th night of her tour which just kicked off in edmonton on march 26th! sadly there's still no more US dates planned (besides the show she's doing tonight up in seattle) i must see this show - girlfriend better play los angeles in the summer! of course it all looks a little out of control & over the top - but we all know by now that goes with the territory when you're dealing with sasha fierce! popbytes over & out for tonight ... xoxo
OH MY GOSH! somebody besides tina knowles actually designed something for beyoncé - ring the alarm! world renowned french designer thierry mugler (61) took charge over the costumes for her new world tour (the I AM ... TOUR) which kicked off tonight up in edmonton, canada - below are some of the gorgeous sketches of what sasha fierce will be wearing (house of dereon will also be contributing to the show - of course mom tina had to put in her two cents) i've loved mr. mugler's incredible sense of style for years - my old roommate michelle (who i can't seem to find on facebook - oh i miss her) worked in his NYC office and would bring home his delicious fragrance angel all the time - it still drives me crazy to this day ... whenever i smell it - i have to ask out loud 'who's wearing angel?' i'm glad his name is back in the spotlight - he's been laying kinda low for the past few years - and not only is he responsible for 58 costumes - mr. mugler is also working as a 'creative advisor' - he'll be directing three portions of the show - dangerously in love, ave maria and the finale! unfortunately right now she's only planning one stop in the states (seattle on april 1st) girlfriend better announce new dates - even though i wasn't super crazy about her last tour (the beyoncé experience) i'd still really like to see her on this tour! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
"The duality between being a woman and a warrior." That's the spirit Thierry Mugler wanted to capture with the costumes he designed for Beyoncé's upcoming world tour, and from the look of these illustrations, he succeeded. The tour kicks off today in Edmonton. "Sasha Fierce is another aspect of Beyoncé's personality," Mugler offered via e-mail. "She is Fierce on stage and Beyoncé in real life. I tried to understand these two sides with my own perception of both aspects." SOURCE
oh my gosh! i feel like christmas morning came early - i woke up to not one but two brand new beyonce videos - one for diva (sung by 'sasha fierce') and halo (sung by beyonce) i love both songs - and ms. knowles' new album i am...sasha fierce has definitely secured a spot in my top ten albums of 2008 - which i need to post soon! watch the videos below for yourself - i think i actually like the songs better than the videos - see what you think! popbytes over & out for now...xoxo
damn! i want a huge rock on my finger - just like beyonce! she was showing off her gorgeously extravagant (and pricey - costing an estimated $3.7 million dollars) 18 carat diamond wedding ring (made by designer lorraine schwartz) earlier this evening at the new york city premiere of her new flick cadillac records (opening in theatres this friday december 5th) also in attendance was her main squeeze jay-z but the couple didn't pose for any pics together (at least i couldn't find any...) and ms. knowles won't be selling her wedding pictures anytime soon (even though she was apparently offered ridiculous amounts of money) this is one couple who really does like to keep things as private as they can - and manage to pull it off somehow (their april '08 wedding was like the celebrity undercover event of the year) although i'm not a huge fan of his - i do hope they stay together - if beyonce is happy - then i am too! popbytes over & out for now...xoxo
oh my goodness! you simply must watch this hilarious skit from tonight's saturday night live where justin timberlake and andy samberg donned black leotards along with high heels & pantyhose to play backup dancers for beyonce's 'single ladies' video - mr. timberlake was so damn cute & sexy shaking his thing just like ms. knowles - a total highlight of tonight's show! i'm quite sure this clip will be removed by tomorrow but i'm hoping NBC will have it up on their website (which they don't - for now we've got the dailymotion video below which takes a few seconds to load but it works) popbytes over & out for now...xoxo
good morning y'all! beyonce's two new singles have been in serious heavy rotation on my ipod as of late - i really like both tracks if i were a boy and single ladies (put a ring on it) which i happened to come across a hot remix of (posted below for your listening pleasure) it's already an upbeat track but this remix for sure turns up the dance vibe! her new double disc album i am...sasha fierce is releasing november 18th (the deluxe edition has 8 tracks on each disc) the first will be stripped down beyonce being all 'real' - on the other she's all about her alter ego sasha fierce...
i have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when i'm on stage, this alter ego that i've created that kind of protects me and who i really am. sasha fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when i'm working and when i'm on the stage - beyonce
when i saw her concert last year (the beyonce experience) she was totally sasha the whole time which grew a bit tired - sasha's a little obnoxious and full of herself - i do love my beyonce but sometimes she just over does it and seriously needs to bring it down a notch - hopefully this album will be better than her last release (b-day) i did like a bunch of tracks but as a whole it's choppy and lacks flow - she'll also be touring again with her sister solange handling the opening - although i wasn't overly thrilled with her last show - i know i'll have to go see her again! popbytes over & out for now...xoxo
oh my gosh - just the other day we had the video premiere of if i were a boy and now here's another new video from beyoncé for her other newly released track single ladies (put a ring on it) (this one's upbeat and totally fun) she's really kicking the promotion & buzz into high gear for her upcoming 3rd solo album i am... releasing on november 18th! popbytes over & out for now...xoxo
hey hey! here's another hot video premiere - this time it's beyonce with her brand new single if i were a boy which i'm totally in love with - it's such a great ballad - and ms. knowles is looking quite fierce in her police uniform! watch the video below for yourself - popbytes over & out for now...xoxo
UPDATE! now you can watch beyonce's video for if i were a boy over here and the video for single ladies (put a ring on it)here!
hey hey! oh happy day - today beyoncé released not just one but two brand new tracks (have a listen below for yourself and then decide which you like better) marking the official promotional kick-off for her upcoming third solo album i am... dropping on november 18th - the track if i were a boy is a really nice strong ballad that's bound to be a hit - the other one single ladies (put a ring on it) is groovy & upbeat but reminds me of get me bodied - a track off her last album b'day (and of course girlfriend had to mention deréon jeans...ugh) i don't think she should have dropped two songs at the same time but we all know ms. knowles is quite an ambitious lady (and is finally opening up about her marriage to jay-z) hopefully this album will fare better than her last release which wasn't all that bad (oh ring the alarm - i loved you so) but certainly wasn't a huge hit like her first solo effort from 2003 dangerously in love! popbytes over & out for tonight...xoxo
oh good evening boys & girls! i'm thrilled today is drawing to a close - it was just one of those ugh days - and thank heavens tomorrow is friday (i'm doing something pretty cool tomorrow afternoon which i'll be filling you all in on soon!) anyways as i was leaving work tonight i noticed something was going down on hollywood blvd but i couldn't quite tell what it was - now i know and i don't think beyonce would be pleased about it...right next to the grauman's chinese theatre a brand new $55 million dollar madame tussauds wax museum is being built (i've kept a close eye on its progress since i work right across the street - it's due to open next spring) and tonight was the official announcement with LA mayor antonio villaraigosa overseeing the ceremony where two new wax figures were unveiled - beyonce and jamie foxx - i do love ms. knowles (who has been keeping a low profile lately) but her waxy doppelganger is awful - the hair looks so cheap - i don't like her armpit pose at all - it's just all around wrong - somebody must agree with me?!?
if someone wanted to make my likeness out of wax - i would totally need to have final approval! i think beyonce needs to get on the horn with the madame of wax! having the museum on the block will be nice - before it was just an ugly parking lot - hollywood blvd has come so far since i've lived here - it's a lot less shady! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo
oh my word - i had to share this clip before i went to bed - it'll probably get taken down but catch it while you can - it's beyonce at the american music awards performing her hit single irreplaceable with country band sugarland! immediately i thought of jessica simpson who has been talking about going country for the past few months - and then ms. knowles goes and does country style this evening - a direction that seemed to come out of nowhere (which actually worked - i thought it was pretty cute) not that beyonce thinks twice about ms. simpson - i just found it to be funny! (or maybe not and i'm just tired - i need to sleep) in jessica's eyes - beyonce stole her country thunder tonight! popbytes over & out - xxoo!
good morning! oh yes - it's friday people! is anyone else excited for the weekend?!? below i've got beyonce unveiling the new 'B phone' from samsung in NYC at the time warner center - and girlfriend looks oh so thrilled to be part of the launch - not! gosh - she looks totally miserable - which i would be too if i had to deal with endorsing some dumb ass cellphone! (although i'm sure she got paid big bucks...) now that she's done with her 'beyonce experience' tour - i wonder what she'll be up to next? hopefully something more exciting than endorsements! (ideally she should just regroup with destiny's child and call it a day) next month her concert DVD will be released (nov 27th) and although i wasn't so hot for her show - since they did film it on the night i was there (sept 2nd) i will need to purchase the disc even though i really have no desire to 'relive' the experience again anytime soon! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!
good evening! so before i plunge into my thoughts on beyonce's los angeles show last night - i must first say once again that i'm a huge fan of ms. knowles & destiny's child - with that being said i can now say that last night's 'beyonce experience' was a drop disappointing - ok yes i know some people who have seen the show will totally disagree with me - it wasn't horrible by any means but overall i think the 'experience' can be summed up as 'over ambitious' - girlfriend packed way too much into her show - it was all over the map and didn't have a very cohesive feel unlike some recent concerts i've seen (i hate to keep comparing it to the timberlake show but i can't help myself - that show was super tight!)
some songs she didn't even finish before she was onto the next - like one of my favorite tracks ring the alarm - she only did about a half of the song! she also did a destiny's child medley but it all went by so quick - i would have preferred if she picked one or two songs and did them in their entirety! at the end of the medley she did a bit of survivor and called michelle williams & kelly rowland to the stage - to sing about 30 seconds - the crowd went wild - as did i - but poof they were gone before you knew it! she could've had them out for the whole song! then when she did upgrade u - she was joined by her main man jay-z who laid down his rap section of the song - again the crowd went nuts! but there were plenty of moments where people sat down as she ran through most of her ballads - i will say her voice was impeccable and she looked totally gorgeous but the whole show felt like she was trying too hard or something (b is a little over the top and sometimes too dramatic - her inner diva needs to calm herself down) it's hard to put my finger on exactly what the problem was...
for sure i didn't like the stage set-up at all which had no ramp/runway extending into the crowd - it was just a regular stage (with steps where the musicians were planted) i much preferred how madonna's most recent concert was staged with a runway where she could run down - or justin timberlake's round stage placed in the center (probably the best set-up i've seen at a large arena) my seats were decent but it's always fun to see them a bit closer!
there were plenty of costume changes (i did notice that i think she has gained a few pounds - not a lot but i've seen her thinner than last night) her male dancers were super hot and the all girl band totally kicked ass! her last song was 'irreplaceable' and ms. knowles made the crowd sing the whole first verse before she took over (a video from her anaheim performance is below thanks to somah who also let me use his pictures below!) then at the end her dancer & back-up singers rolled out a huge birthday cake - kelly & michelle popped up again - and we all sang 'happy birthday' (she turns 26 tomorrow) this was also her last north american show - she has like five more dates in canada and then the tour is complete - i'm very interested to see what she'll do next! (they were filming the show last night for a DVD release - of course i'll have to pick that up when it's released)
in the end i was way glad i went (although whenever i go downtown i get so lost - the streets totally confuse me and when i went to park i hit the curb which almost gave me a flat tire) i simply had to see her live but the show should have been tighter and not so scattered & hurried! when i got home i was flipping through my $25 souvenir program book - and it's the first one i've ever bought that had ads in the back (house of dereon, armani's diamonds, l'oreal, and samsung) which also slightly annoyed me...i still love my girl beyonce but i certainly couldn't give the show a glowing review - if anyone else has witnessed 'the beyonce experience' please chime in with a comment on what you thought! popbytes over & out for tonight - oh yes it's back to the daily grind tomorrow - ugh! xxoo
