hey hey! although i'd love to stay home tonight and watch the series premiere of V (which i'll tivo) i have to make my way down to the troubadour over in west hollywood to catch 22-year-old canadian pop sensation LIGHTS in concert (girlfriend's real name is valerie poxleitner) her debut album the listening was released a couple of weeks ago - it's totally decent and super catchy pop music - i'm curious to see how she does live! (i'll try to tweet updates from the show) check out the music video below for her single ice - my favorite track off the album! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
hey hey! i'm sure some of you saw my glowing tweets the other night when i went to moby's concert here in los angeles - he put on a truly incredible and high energy show! i danced my ass off - at some points i felt like i was on ecstasy at a rave! people might think his show is just him playing DJ - but that couldn't be further from the truth - he had a band - plus he sang and played guitar, keyboard, & bongos! he also had two lovely ladies singing on some of his tracks - inyang bassey and kelli scarr - both were amazing vocalists and added a lot to the show! he played a great mix of new and old material (the set list is below) i shot a bit of video which you can watch below - i also had a photo pass but the venue (the wiltern) failed to tell me i could only snap pics from the pit during the first three songs - ugh! after seeing him live - anytime he comes to town - i will be there! (please make sure to pick up a copy of his new album wait for me - it's excellent!) popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo

good evening! thankfully my teeth are feeling way better than last night - otherwise i might have had to skip out on seeing juliette lewis - she's playing down at the el rey here in los angeles in support of her brand new album terra incognita (buy it on itunes) i already saw her play once live at the roxy about two years ago and girlfriend put on a truly kick-ass show - i'm sure tonight she'll be rocking out hardcore again! most of you probably know ms. lewis is an amazing actress - but she also happens to make an excellent rockstar! i'll try to snap some pictures and tweet updates - i hope everyone out there is having an awesome weekend so far! popbytes over & out for tonight ... xoxo
hey kids! i'm heading out again tonight - into the rain - this time to catch electronica dance master moby who i've been a huge fan of for years - this should definitely be a super high energy show ... especially when compared to last night's bob dylan show which was excellent but a little on the sleepy side (at least i was a bit sleepy) tonight i'm going to be dancing my ass off down at the wiltern here in los angeles! below is the brand new animated video for moby's new single mistake off his most recent kick-ass 9th studio album wait for me! of course i will try to tweet updates from the show - i know it's going to be a totally amazing experience! popbytes over & out for tonight ... xoxo
hey hey! tonight i'm heading out again (last night's fever ray show was simply breathtaking) this time to catch cutie blake lewis who's playing down at the roxy and celebrating the release of his second album heartbreak on vinyl which just came out last week! (i highly recommend picking yourself up a copy - it's available over on itunes) luckily i'm going to get to meet with blake for a few minutes before the show - i'm totally going to snap a picture with him - he's beyond adorable and quite talented! i suppose i will have to ask him what he thinks about paula abdul leaving american idol (i'm still not happy about it at all) i'd also like to know if blake still keeps in touch with ms. jordin sparks! i'll try to twitter as well (you can follow blake on twitter too!) last night i got zero reception - i do love my iphone but i'm so over AT&T's crappy coverage and service! popbytes over & out for tonight - xoxo
good evening! i've been anxiously awaiting tonight's fever ray show ever since i posted the video for the single when i grow up from karin dreijer andersson's (one-half of the knife) side project back in march! the self-titled debut album is one of my fave releases from this year - the electronic-soaked music is slightly spooky and haunting - and karin's vocals are quite unique and quirky - i expect to be covered in goosebumps tonight! from what i've read about the other shows (here and here) it's going to be a wicked night filled with lasers, smoke, vintage lamps, and bongos! (sadly tonight is the last stop on the US tour - then she's off to play dates in europe) below is the latest video for the song seven and features an elderly lady lip syncing to the chilly vocals - an incredibly beautiful & eerie video! i'll try to twitter updates from the show - stay tuned! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
UPDATE! i just got home a few minutes ago - as expected kylie minogue put on an incredible show - i danced my ass off the entire time (and my seat was beyond amazing) however now i'm completely drained and i do need to deal with work tomorrow ... ugh! i'll check you guys tomorrow - xoxo
hey kids! i'm so excited - in just a few minutes i'll be walking up to the hollywood bowl to catch aussie kylie minogue on her very first US tour - ever! i've been a fan of ms. minogue ever since her smash 1988 hit - a cover of loco-motion - and since those days of overly permed hair - girlfriend has made quite the name for herself (and successfully battled breast cancer) becoming one of the biggest gay icons in pop/dance music today - oh it's going to be queen central at the bowl tonight ... i'm expecting to see each & every gay from the los angeles area there! kylie has already played a couple of tour dates (oakland and las vegas) and from what i've heard - her show is going to be amazing - i'm totally going to be dancing my ass off plus i managed to score an excellent seat in the very first section - i'll be grooving right from the 7th row! i'll try twitter updates but reception isn't so great up there - i promise to do what i can! enjoy the multi-costumed pictures below from her oakland show and after returning home i'll post some quick thoughts on the show! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
hey everyone! last night i had the extreme pleasure of catching pink on her funhouse tour at staples center here in los angeles - as expected girlfriend totally kicked ass - and unlike britney spears she sang every song live - no lip syncing at all - which was quite refreshing! she did a great mix of new and old material along with a couple of covers (the setlist is posted below) the crowd was in total high spirits (adam lambert was there with his hot boyfriend drake labry) but then some super annoying ladies were getting all upset because people were standing up in front of 'em - they were screaming sit down, sit down - i started to get annoyed since they were making more of disturbance than the people standing - i turned to them and i was like shut the fuck up and after that - they stopped making a fuss! unfortunately pink did something to her shoulder four days ago - so she wasn't able to do as many acrobatics on the ropes as she normally would have but she was amazing - such a performer and her body is beyond incredible - i just adore her! check out some pictures i snapped below - and there's video i shot of her last song glitter in the air - she was even dipped in water at the very end - it such a cool touch! popbytes over & out for now .... xoxo

good evening! tonight i'm heading down to staples center to catch pink on her funhouse tour which just kicked off here in the states a few days ago up in seattle (the ting tings are opening - i'm going to some party tomorrow night where they'll be performing too!) i saw her once before when she toured with justin timberlake - she put on an excellent show back then - i think she might actually top herself tonight - i can't wait! her most recent album funhouse was my top favorite album of 2008 - i'm excited to see her perform some of her new material live but i still totally love her debut single there you go (watch the video below) from back in 2000 - i've been a huge fan from the very start ... it's great to see her doing better than ever nine years later! i'm hoping to spot her sexy hubby carey hart at the show - he's super adorable (all those tattoos ... yummy!) i'm thrilled they managed to work things out and are staying together - mr. & mrs. hart make a totally kick-ass couple! of course i'll be twittering from the show - so please stay tuned! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
UPDATE! OH MY WORD! i had the best time tonight! below i said that liza minnelli wasn't what she used to be - but i totally regret that statement - i take it all back ... she was AMAZING tonight ... i can't even begin to tell you - it was one of the best shows i've been to - and i've seen many shows and this show at the hollywood bowl truly ranks among the best of 'em! i'm beyond psyched to see her again saturday night - i'll do a full review soon ... long live liza (with a Z) xoxo!
good evening! although i'm still super excited to see liza minnelli at the hollywood bowl tonight - the unexpected news of DJ AM (aka adam goldstein) passing away (at age 36) really threw me for a loop ... i swear these past few months have been truly devastating - we've lost so many great people before their time - i can't remember so many deaths in one year - it's really bizarre and creepy - 2009 ... the year of death! anyways i'm going to leave you with ms. minnelli's rousing performance of but the world goes round from her appearance on the late late show with craig ferguson last week - she's certainly not what she used to be (heck, she's 63) but i just adore her wacky energy and over the top campy vibe ... she's the best - a total living legend! of course i'll try and twitter from the bowl - since i don't get reception on my iphone over there - i actually dug out my blackberry ... hopefully i'll have better luck with that! popbytes over & out for tonight - much love to all as always ... xoxo
