good evening y'all! this is a very local post to los angeles but i'm quite sure everyone understands having to deal with a shitty intersection! ever since i moved here from back east - there has always been one zany intersection that drives me absolutely nuts and seemed to be the perfect breeding ground for a nasty accident!
when you're going north on cahuenga - out of hollywood and towards the valley - as you round a corner on the 'cahuenga pass' - it intersects with odin (plus there's exits from the 101 freeway) it's hard to explain but basically you're driving on a street with two lanes - the people coming from the other street don't have to stop - they just drive right into a new third lane - yet if you haven't driven there before you would assume that you have to stop which causes weird confusion plus people drive pretty fast around that corner - when you're heading back towards hollywood - the same drama occurs - not good times!
so earlier this afternoon i was heading over towards burbank (to pick up a dresser at ikea which of course was a pain in the ass piecing it all together - i kept calling it a 'mess in a box' but it finally came together!) so there was work being done at that intersection clogging up traffic - when i came back - i realized they were putting in stoplights - which totally made my day! if there was one place where a stoplight was needed around these parts (besides britney spears' driveway) that was top priority in my mind - i was all 'i need to post this to popbytes' oh happy day - it's the simple joys in life that makes it all worthwhile! if you've driven through the section i'm talking about (there's a map located below) i'm positive you'll be just as thrilled as i am!
i hope everyone is having a terrific weekend - i'm resting up for the week ahead - i've got not one but two nights of seeing spice girls - i decided to go both wednesday & friday night - i'll be in total spice overload! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!

14. You really can never be too rich or too thin or too tan.
15. You've partied in Tijuana at least 3 times and you don't remember at least 1 of them.
16. You go to a tanning salon before going to the beach.
17. You eat pineapple on pizza.
18. Your cell phone has left a permanent impression on the side of your head.

hey hey hey - gosh i was so bummed today - first off it has been raining - see pics below - you never see hollywood blvd like that - and today was to be the grand opening for the new virgin megastore here in hollywood - sir 'crazy but cool' richard branson was to appear to cut a ribbon - along with a rooftop performance from INXS with their new lead singer cutie JD power (i love him!) - but alas it all got washed away - they said it was cancelled not postponed - so i doubt it will happen but i will stay on top of that whole situation - damn that rain!!! it rarely rains in LA so to have it rain on this day was really saddening especially on a monday :( everyone at work was in a mad scramble for umbrellas (poor audra almost went outside with a plastic bag - i had to stop her for the fashion factor) and made hollywood blvd as slippery as all hell...that sidewalk o' stars was so not built with rain in mind...
so anyways i just caught the madonna appearance on TRL that took place earlier today - lame lame lame - it was just so dumb - i felt like i was in grade school - they showed like 30 seconds of the new video for hung up - and had this stupid 'dance for madonna contest' - i think madge wanted to leave & regrets hopping in bed with MTV (except i'm sure the $$$ is good) - and that guy who is now hosting TRL - can they get someone with some zest??? he is such a fucking drip - i'm sure ms. madge was rolling her eyes back into her head - but i did spot blogmate trent from pinkisthenewblog.com so that was kinda fun to see him hanging out in the audience - his blog is super fun - a daily read for sure - of course he is destined to be a star! so rock on!

hey kids! just a quick post - had to share this - this is so freaking me out! it's been hot as hell here in los angeles and now these fires have broken out - big bad ass fires - and actually some celeb homes are under threat! wild! but the craziest thing is - you know i am in hollywood - which seems oh so distant from the fires burning down the west valley - BUT - i went on my balcony - and dudes - i can fucking smell the fire! i was immediately aurally transported to memories of me being a boy scout (yes i was if you can believe it) i feel like i am camping - i am ready to roast marshmellows (oh smores!) - anyways - it's so weird - california has had so many fires since i have been here - but NEVER could i smell it like i can now - gosh good times here! anyways i'm watching SURVIVOR (and TIVO'ing the season premiere of ALIAS)...popbytes out for now - i shall soon be sending smoke signals - xxoo!

hey kids - happy sunday - thanks for popping in - its been a wild week - still reeling from the whole culkin thing (traffic is buzzing and great!) - some people think i should have stood my ground - but popbytes has little time for drama - and it would be my ass on the line - not yrs - popbytes is just one simple blogger - so 'nuff said - there is more to the story - and im sure someone else will break it!
what else is going on? besides some rain in los angeles - if you can believe - i almost did a rain dance! we needed it so bad! but it did make things quite slippery - LA just isnt built for rain - i find there needs to be a happy medium between too much nyc rain - to too little LA rain...
i have been working hard this weekend to bring you the best of the best - so if you browse the right hand column - you will notice some new content feeds including - itunes hottest and latest - netflix top releases, my personal netflix que, and top rentals - and some yahoo! entertainment feeds - im trying to bring you only the best - so popbytes becomes yr one stop shop for all things pop - and you can get yr daily fix!
some celeb spottings to report - from brentwood - luke wilson and a pal having coffee at Peets - lady lora spotted rebecca gayheart (noxzema and most recently the blind chick on nip/tuck) and since lora is my soulmate on nip/tuck - this was an especially good sighting! and i just got the whole first season on DVD - so i can settle into that - and catch up (i admit i didnt watch the first season) maybe soon i will have the strength to post some thoughts on the season finale - im still in denial - nip/tuck must return next season - and dr. troy better be fine! hes the hottest person ever! long live nip/tuck and creator ryan murphy!
so i have caught up on a bunch of things - and im so ready for the pop week ahead! and hopefully i will make it to the cinema to catch team america - any movie made up entirely of marionettes deserves to be seen - and reviews have been promising - so im into it! and tonight im anxiously awaiting the third episode of desperate housewives - my gal oprah had the whole cast on fridays show - what a great cast - and a fun show - looks like we all found something to replace the black hole that sex & the city used to fill...
and a special shout-out to my gal (lets just call her S) who has been dealing with a bunch of shit - and shes the last person who needs it - so keep yr head up high - and calm is the word (kinda like grease was the word) much love to you always!
and one more thing - britney federline - is she on cracked - wanting to change her name - so stupid - listen to how we would say it - and say these out loud for a really good trashy time!
