earlier today the hollywood chamber of commerce announced a list of thirty recipients who will be getting their very own star on the infamous walk of fame next year here in hollywood – although i’m thrilled the muppets, oprah winfrey and tina fey will be honored (the full list is below) i’m still super peeved that my beloved bea arthur still doesn’t have one yet – girlfriend only has four more years to wait before they can honor her posthumously – ugh – they seriously need to make an exception and get her one as soon as possible – it’s a total travesty! popbytes over & out … xoxo

good evening! word broke earlier this week that actor dennis hopper (age 73) was too sick and frail to take part in the nasty divorce proceedings with his wife victoria – he’s been fighting prostate cancer (the sad news became public last october) and is apparently too ill to have undergo any more chemotherapy treatments – but thankfully he was able to gather enough strength to accept his star which was unveiled on hollywood’s walk of fame earlier today! (i’m surprised he didn’t already have one) i literally gasped out loud when i saw the gaunt photos of mr. hopper below – he doesn’t look well at all and is reportedly weighing in at a mere 100lbs – sadly i don’t think he has very long to live but i’m glad he was honored by hollywood before it was too late! (the adorable little girl on his lap is his six-year old daughter galen grier) i’ve been a fan of his work ever since i saw him play the highly intense gas-sniffing bad guy ‘frank booth’ in one of my favorite films ever – director david lynch‘s 1986 surrealistic masterpiece blue velvet – in which dennis was nominated for a best supporting actor oscar! i was just looking at his wikipedia page – this man has been steadily working in hollywood since 1955 (his easy rider co-star jack nicholson was on hand today honoring dennis) the list of his films is like a mile long! my thoughts and prayers are with mr. hopper during this tough time – along with his family and friends! popbytes over & out for tonight – much love is going out to everyone – xoxo

good morning! i knew something was up yesterday when two people in my office told me they spotted cutie john stamos (age 46) on hollywood blvd yesterday and it turns out he was getting his star (#2,393) along the infamous ‘walk of fame’ – which was probably in conjunction with him starring on broadway in a revival of bye bye birdie (one of the few musicals i don’t know too well) although i find him totally adorable and super sexy – it still irks and shocks me that my beloved bea arthur still doesn’t have her own star – and now that she passed away – there’s a five-year waiting period before the honor can be bestowed posthumously – ugh! my pal michelle collins from best week ever and i are appalled at the situation – it’s simply not fair! we seriously need to figure out how this travesty of injustice can be remedied – five years is way too long to wait when it comes to a legendary star of the stage and television like ms. arthur was! popbytes over & out for now … xoxo

good evening! actress cameron diaz was honored in hollywood today – she received the 2,386th star along hollywood blvd’s walk of fame (her vanilla sky co-star tom cruise along with wife katie holmes were in attendance) i don’t mind ms. diaz at all but in all honesty – i didn’t really want to write a post about her (or her upcoming movie my sister’s keeper which looks like a total drag) i’m simply using this latest star ceremony as another opportunity to vent about my beloved bea arthur still not having her own star! now that she recently passed away – girlfriend has to wait five years for a posthumous nomination – which is totally insane to me – ms. arthur was an award-winning star of stage and screen – who sincerely deserves the honor – unlike some people who already have their star like mary-kate and ashley olsen or ryan seacrest – shame on whoever makes these decisions! maybe they’ll make an exception – five years seems like an awfully long time to wait to honor someone supremely talented like ms. arthur – who was true class act! popbytes over & out for now … xoxo

good evening! oh my word – it was beyond difficult to get back into the swing of things today after a truly amazing & relaxing vacation down in maui (right now i’m trying to organize all the pictures…stay tuned) i was a bit tired at work (after getting in at 1am – i finally slept around 3am) but i picked up right where i left off – plus it was good to see all of my work friends! anyways right now i’ve got actress glenn close who received the 2,378th star earlier today on hollywood blvd’s walk of fame – i was actually pretty shocked to find out she didn’t already have one! after all ms. close is an award-winning actress/singer of stage & screen (working in the business for 30+ years) and has been in a ton of great films (jagged edge, fatal attraction, dangerous liasons, reversal of fortune, and paradise road – to name just a few!) and i’m totally enjoying her in the second season of damages which is like the best show on television right now – it’s that good! speaking of TV…oh my word – can you believe the 8th season of american idol kicks off tomorrow night?!? i’m quite excited although i’m not sure how extra judge kara dioguardi will fit in (she is an amazing singer & songwriter – that’s a plus) i just hope the chemistry isn’t altered too much! popbytes over & out for tonight…xoxo
