i just got back from the premiere party for rupaul’s drag race (which i posted about earlier today) i was taken aback when this totally random couple showed up on the red carpet together – local attention-seeker bobby trendy (probably best known for his time spent being anna nicole smith‘s interior designer) who was armed with steven daigle – the cute gay cowboy from big brother 10 who is getting geared up for the release of his first porn movie (‘reality star to porn star’ is the tagline) called steven daigle xxxposed (<-- link NSFW!) what an odd pairing! of course bobby had another outlandish & wacky outfit on (ummm, lady gaga is that you?) steven decided to go shirtless – looking way adorable! (i wonder if anything is going on between ‘em? my guess is probably not) i loved him on ‘big brother’ but i’m kind of shocked he decided to take a trip down ‘porn lane’ yet of course i do have to see a few clips … just out of plain ol’ curiosity … ha! popbytes over & out for tonight … xoxo

hey kids! tonight i had the opportunity to cover the red carpet premiere of showtime‘s series weeds (3rd season) & californication (series premiere) luckily i had an amazing blogger comrade by my side – ms. stacy from seriously? omg! wtf? (read her take on the event) we both were near the end of the red carpet but of course at these type of events there’s always a pecking order and we got what we could…



the first lady we got to talk to who was the stunning & gracious academy award winner marlee matlin (who stars in showtime’s the L word) she was just the cutest thing and really nice! we also got to chat with evan handler – of course i had to ask him about the upcoming sex & the city movie – he said that his character ‘harry’ (who married ‘charlotte’ played by kristin davis) was in the script but there’s a few ‘business’ things to be worked out but he hopes it’s a go! (stacy also just posted on this tidbit)



then i spotted mary-kate olsen (she guest stars on this season of ‘weeds’) who didn’t really stop for many people but i did manage to snag a few shots (posted below) i also finally got to see david duchovny in person (who is really tall – which totally threw me off…he always seemed like a short type of guy to me!) but he breezed past us without a second glance – and i didn’t really get a picture of him – except his back which you’ll find at the bottom – he’s gorgeous in person but i wish he would have spared even a few seconds for us little people…



which brings me to the star of the red carpet mary-louise parker (and the star of ‘weeds’) who was shuffled inside before we got to talk to her but one of her handlers told fans standing outside that she’d be back in five minutes – lo & behold after all the hoopla was over – she came back outside and posed with fans while signing autographs! stacy & i both asked her for to pose for a picture which she kindly did – plus i got to tell ms. parker that her dress rocked and she seemed quite happy with the compliment – i was very impressed that she came back – way cool!



finally i must give a shout out to justin kirk who was very sexy in person (and tall too!) he worked with ms. parker previously in angels in america (which if you haven’t seen – you must!) overall i had a great time and i’m totally pumped over the premiere of both shows taking place on august 13th! hey kids! i said i’d post a little bit on last night’s premiere of the new david arquette horror flick the tripper which i was able to attend along with my pal sam! we met up near the hollywood forever cemetary (which hosts a summertime screening series as well) i made sure to wear a few layers since i’m battling a small cold and i knew it would end up being freezing there – and oh my gosh i was totally right! (heat lamps were present but not nearly enough – i’m always cold though!)



since we decided to park nearby we had to walk in and who did we see right away with the window rolled down looking gorgeous? oh yes patrica arquette being driven in by a bodyguard – her hubby thomas jayne was also there (he stars in the film as well) i totally wanted to go to the screening since i adore the whole clan (oh yes ms. alexis was there) and i knew it’d be an overall cool set-up – there was a big grass lawn (empty – ie no graves) where the screening took place – filled with bean bags, tables, couches, and blankets – plenty of places to sit – tons of food to munch on (including in & out burger!) plus all the drinks anyone might need (i just settled for water & redbull – in honor of lindsay lohan!)



i would have loved to taken a bunch of pics but i wasn’t covering the event – i suppose it’s more fun to be a guest but i know how you all love pics – i did what i could below! if you look closely i did manage to snap courteney cox-arquette but although pal jennifer aniston was in attendance she didn’t walk the red carpet! (she didn’t need the drama) as the sun went completely down it was really dark – we could barely see anyone – so i can’t really tell you who was all there except the main folks involved in the film (including paul reubens who is one of my favorite people ever!)



the film was projected against a huge white wall – with the backdrop of large palm trees and being surrounded by graves (plus ‘killer’ sound) it became the perfect setting for the tripper! (it almost had a drive-in feel) the movie is what it is – silly & campy – gruesome & bloody – it’s fun and semi-clever but i really can’t rave about it but i do think mr. arquette is way talented and i’m sure we’ll be seeing more from his ‘twisted mind’!



sam and i grew so cold & cranky near the end we had to jet out of there and since the carpet was empty – we snapped some pics of each other (yes it was bit nerdy but why not?!?) carefully we made our way on a small street in the dark through the graves and by that point i became a bit spooked and was super glad to be out of there! the film opens next friday (4/20) and please make sure to check out their myspace page for a bunch more information on the film! popbytes over & out for now…xxoo!

well hello hello hello! i just got home a little while ago from covering the red carpet premiere of the latest mike white outing year of the dog which lands in theaters (select cities for now) next friday april 13th (spooky day!) i was thrilled to discover i had my very own spot along the red carpet (yes i had to snap a picture of it!) plus since there was a lot of waiting around time i met some really nice people and overall everyone got along – i was right beside LAist which is one of the best los angeles themed blogs around!



there were a bunch of celebs in attendance including drew barrymore, lea thompson, judy reyes, shondrella avery, jack black, ben stiller & wife christine taylor, wilson cruz and of course cast members molly shannon (so adorable in person and way animated – i love her!) laura dern (the one person i had a great question for (about this film vs. INLAND EMPIRE) but alas time grew short by the end), josh pais, amy & zoe schlagel (the cutest twin girls ever who shared the part of ‘lizzie’) and of course the man of the hour the incredibly talented mike white who wrote the film and also made his directorial debut! everyone talked about him – it’s one of those ‘when mike calls you simply say yes’ type of situations! i had the chance to screen the film last week – i completely loved it – go ahead and read my glowing review! ms. shannon totally deserves an award – i’m gunning for an independent spirit award!

finally the truly best part of the evening was meeting lisa marie – she’s the white pitbull pictured below – she’s two years old and was found on the streets and is now unfortunately deaf from being badly abused – i had my eye on her and when i went to go meet her – ms. lisa laid down immediately and was all ‘rub my belly’ – i swear she was one of the sweetest dogs i’ve met in quite some time! she’s up for adoption through best friends animal society which is a local animal rescue organization (i would’ve totally taken her but the one thing is she doesn’t get along with other dogs but with everyone else lisa marie is a total lamb!)



i was really happy to see that the good folks over at paramount vantage thought to bring in a bunch of local animal organizations to attend the premiere and perhaps find their adorable doggies a new family – i was so glad to be able to cover the hollywood premiere! this film is like like the perfect pop storm here on popbytes…the stars have aligned – dogs – mike white – molly shannon – laura dern?!? oh my word – who could ask for anything more? people who send me pitches know i can be overly picky but when something like year of the dog comes across my plate – i’m all over it! i’ve even got another post up my sleeve planned around this film so please stay tuned! popbytes over & out for tonight…xxoo!
