good evening y'all! today hollywood blvd. was a total nightmare (again) half of the street was blocked off for the los angeles premiere of quentin tarantino's latest bloody flick inglourious basterds (opening on august 21st ... i am so there - watch the trailer!) tourists were everywhere plus it was pretty hot outside (i have to laugh sometimes when i see people taking pics with the sidewalk stars - on my way to lunch i saw a family all huddled around cuba gooding jr.'s star ... i was like - gosh who wants a picture with that star?) yet with all the messy & sweaty congestion aside - there was definite magic in the air as brad pitt would soon be walking the red carpet - the big question being ... would angelina jolie be by his side? of course she was ... looking totally smoking (and not pregnant) in a sexy sleeveless black leather dress! last week i posted some rumors about possible trouble in paradise for brangelina but let's face it - rumors have been swirling ever since the couple first got together (leaving jennifer aniston in the dust) i don't detect a drop of trouble - this is a picture of two people truly in love (although brad needs to shave off his graying goatee) i just adore them as couple - i will be beyond devastated if they ever decide to split up! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
good evening! don't you love it when an actor shows up on the red carpet not looking like themselves? like when cutie ryan gosling packed on a few extra pounds not too long ago - well yesterday robert downey jr was at the hollywood premiere of fred claus (which looks like the worst movie imaginable - totally not my type of movie at all) and he certainly looked a little different with his dirty blond hair along with a few extra pounds - at first i couldn't tell who it was and then i was all oh my gosh - he looks different! i'm sure he changed his look up a bit for a new movie role - i believe he's filming tropic thunder directed by ben stiller (the film that owen wilson dropped out of) robert downey jr. for sure has had his fair share of issues & drama (he was in rehab back when britney & lindsay were in grade school) but he always managed to bounce back and he truly is one of our finest actors! (i'm assuming the boy next to him is his son - you can see the resemblance easily)
yesterday's premiere also was a nightmare for hollywood blvd which was partially blocked off causing the usual traffic fun - not good times! as per usual i can't believe monday is almost here - the weekends are such a tease! (i did manage to get in a lot of time playing guitar hero III which is insanely fun & addictive but it made my fingers numb - my pal joey did warn me - she was right!) pobytes over & out for now...xxoo!
PS while shopping at the beverly center yesterday i spotted ryan cabrera with his girlfriend riley keough (elvis' granddaughter) who were at the puppy store - which is a mandatory stop for me anytime i go there - although the puppies are way overpriced - people need to go to a shelter instead but i can't help from seeing those sweet little puppy faces!
good morning & happy friday everybody! below i've got tom cruise and 'stepford' wife katie holmes who hit the red carpet last night at the arclight cinemas here in hollywood for the premiere of tom's latest film lions for lambs - ms. holmes actually does look totally fabulous & glamorous in black (i love her hoop earrings) but two things strike me as a bit odd - first the couple almost has matching hairstyles - the main difference being their hair is parted on different sides & katie's is a bit longer (tom needs a haircut - he should stick with short & neat) the second thing is - doesn't tom look about the same height as katie in these pictures? isn't he shorter than her?!? she must be bending her knees or something! hey kids! tonight i had the opportunity to cover the red carpet premiere of showtime's series weeds (3rd season) & californication (series premiere) luckily i had an amazing blogger comrade by my side - ms. stacy from seriously? omg! wtf? (read her take on the event) we both were near the end of the red carpet but of course at these type of events there's always a pecking order and we got what we could...
the first lady we got to talk to who was the stunning & gracious academy award winner marlee matlin (who stars in showtime's the L word) she was just the cutest thing and really nice! we also got to chat with evan handler - of course i had to ask him about the upcoming sex & the city movie - he said that his character 'harry' (who married 'charlotte' played by kristin davis) was in the script but there's a few 'business' things to be worked out but he hopes it's a go! (stacy also just posted on this tidbit)
then i spotted mary-kate olsen (she guest stars on this season of 'weeds') who didn't really stop for many people but i did manage to snag a few shots (posted below) i also finally got to see david duchovny in person (who is really tall - which totally threw me off...he always seemed like a short type of guy to me!) but he breezed past us without a second glance - and i didn't really get a picture of him - except his back which you'll find at the bottom - he's gorgeous in person but i wish he would have spared even a few seconds for us little people...
which brings me to the star of the red carpet mary-louise parker (and the star of 'weeds') who was shuffled inside before we got to talk to her but one of her handlers told fans standing outside that she'd be back in five minutes - lo & behold after all the hoopla was over - she came back outside and posed with fans while signing autographs! stacy & i both asked her for to pose for a picture which she kindly did - plus i got to tell ms. parker that her dress rocked and she seemed quite happy with the compliment - i was very impressed that she came back - way cool!
finally i must give a shout out to justin kirk who was very sexy in person (and tall too!) he worked with ms. parker previously in angels in america (which if you haven't seen - you must!) overall i had a great time and i'm totally pumped over the premiere of both shows taking place on august 13th! hey kids! i said i'd post a little bit on last night's premiere of the new david arquette horror flick the tripper which i was able to attend along with my pal sam! we met up near the hollywood forever cemetary (which hosts a summertime screening series as well) i made sure to wear a few layers since i'm battling a small cold and i knew it would end up being freezing there - and oh my gosh i was totally right! (heat lamps were present but not nearly enough - i'm always cold though!)
since we decided to park nearby we had to walk in and who did we see right away with the window rolled down looking gorgeous? oh yes patrica arquette being driven in by a bodyguard - her hubby thomas jayne was also there (he stars in the film as well) i totally wanted to go to the screening since i adore the whole clan (oh yes ms. alexis was there) and i knew it'd be an overall cool set-up - there was a big grass lawn (empty - ie no graves) where the screening took place - filled with bean bags, tables, couches, and blankets - plenty of places to sit - tons of food to munch on (including in & out burger!) plus all the drinks anyone might need (i just settled for water & redbull - in honor of lindsay lohan!)
i would have loved to taken a bunch of pics but i wasn't covering the event - i suppose it's more fun to be a guest but i know how you all love pics - i did what i could below! if you look closely i did manage to snap courteney cox-arquette but although pal jennifer aniston was in attendance she didn't walk the red carpet! (she didn't need the drama) as the sun went completely down it was really dark - we could barely see anyone - so i can't really tell you who was all there except the main folks involved in the film (including paul reubens who is one of my favorite people ever!)
the film was projected against a huge white wall - with the backdrop of large palm trees and being surrounded by graves (plus 'killer' sound) it became the perfect setting for the tripper! (it almost had a drive-in feel) the movie is what it is - silly & campy - gruesome & bloody - it's fun and semi-clever but i really can't rave about it but i do think mr. arquette is way talented and i'm sure we'll be seeing more from his 'twisted mind'!
sam and i grew so cold & cranky near the end we had to jet out of there and since the carpet was empty - we snapped some pics of each other (yes it was bit nerdy but why not?!?) carefully we made our way on a small street in the dark through the graves and by that point i became a bit spooked and was super glad to be out of there! the film opens next friday (4/20) and please make sure to check out their myspace page for a bunch more information on the film! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!

well hello hello hello! i just got home a little while ago from covering the red carpet premiere of the latest mike white outing year of the dog which lands in theaters (select cities for now) next friday april 13th (spooky day!) i was thrilled to discover i had my very own spot along the red carpet (yes i had to snap a picture of it!) plus since there was a lot of waiting around time i met some really nice people and overall everyone got along - i was right beside LAist which is one of the best los angeles themed blogs around!
there were a bunch of celebs in attendance including drew barrymore, lea thompson, judy reyes, shondrella avery, jack black, ben stiller & wife christine taylor, wilson cruz and of course cast members molly shannon (so adorable in person and way animated - i love her!) laura dern (the one person i had a great question for (about this film vs. INLAND EMPIRE) but alas time grew short by the end), josh pais, amy & zoe schlagel (the cutest twin girls ever who shared the part of 'lizzie') and of course the man of the hour the incredibly talented mike white who wrote the film and also made his directorial debut! everyone talked about him - it's one of those 'when mike calls you simply say yes' type of situations! i had the chance to screen the film last week - i completely loved it - go ahead and read my glowing review! ms. shannon totally deserves an award - i'm gunning for an independent spirit award!
finally the truly best part of the evening was meeting lisa marie - she's the white pitbull pictured below - she's two years old and was found on the streets and is now unfortunately deaf from being badly abused - i had my eye on her and when i went to go meet her - ms. lisa laid down immediately and was all 'rub my belly' - i swear she was one of the sweetest dogs i've met in quite some time! she's up for adoption through best friends animal society which is a local animal rescue organization (i would've totally taken her but the one thing is she doesn't get along with other dogs but with everyone else lisa marie is a total lamb!)
i was really happy to see that the good folks over at paramount vantage thought to bring in a bunch of local animal organizations to attend the premiere and perhaps find their adorable doggies a new family - i was so glad to be able to cover the hollywood premiere! this film is like like the perfect pop storm here on popbytes...the stars have aligned - dogs - mike white - molly shannon - laura dern?!? oh my word - who could ask for anything more? people who send me pitches know i can be overly picky but when something like year of the dog comes across my plate - i'm all over it! i've even got another post up my sleeve planned around this film so please stay tuned! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!
hey everyone! i just got back a little while ago from the hollywood premiere of the upcoming showtime series the tudors which was literally held down the block from my apartment at the lovely egyptian theater - i was able to grab a spot along the red carpet and snap pics of the arrivals which was a total blast and i met a bunch of really cool gal reporters! (special props to carita who was super nice & friendly...always refreshing in LA!) i was going to go to the hot after party at les deux but i've got blogging to do yo!
below is a bunch of the pictures i snapped - i was thrilled to see eric mabius & america ferrera strolling down the red carpet from my total hands down favorite TV show at the moment ugly betty (eric hinted that his character 'daniel' would be going down a dark path) plus there were a bunch of others including bai ling (who was really sweet and cute in person), sam neill & gabrielle anwar (both stars of 'the tudors'), camryn manheim, ken davitian (from 'borat'), evan handler and others - it was quite crowded and i can't recognize everyone!
oh my gosh...then there was the sexiest man of the evening jonathan rhys meyers who was so fucking hot in person - it was literally unbelievable - he exuded sex appeal like nobody's business! i don't give a shit what the real henry viii looked like - mr. meyers is the main reason i'll be tuning into the tudors! many special thanks my pals at showtime who totally hooked me up and allowed me to cover the premiere! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!
hey hey! here are some pics i snapped right before i left work today - they blocked hollywood blvd off again (hello traffic nightmare!) for another movie premiere! this time up at bat was mr. borat and his country of kazakhstan for the premiere of borat's big movie debut which opens in theaters on november 3rd (just the other day i posted some borat .mp3's) this is one movie i think everyone must see - the character is hysterical - sacha baron cohen is a comedic genius! popbytes over & out for now - xxoo!
oh my gosh i am so beat! i just got back from covering the 'blue' carpet for the los angeles premiere of the upcoming richard linklater film a scanner darkly! i covered the press junket over the weekend and tonight was my big chance to snap some pictures of a few of the stars of the film! the premiere took place at the very lovely ford amphitheatre and was a featured part of the LA film festival...
i didn't know what to expect and i will be the first to admit my nerves were in full effect but it all went quite swimmingly! even though i was a drop out of my element i did enjoy myself...there were two places that photographers could set-up to take pictures - everyone had all these fancy ass cameras and there i was with my canon digital but it did the trick! i found myself a very tight spot but luckily i was right where people first stepped into all those flashes! plus i got to chat with a few of the handlers and gave some shout-out dress compliments!
we did do a lot of waiting though...we were all buzzing over when would stars keanu reeves & winona ryder appear and they finally did at the very end - they were really quick but both looked super dazzling! i barely had time to snap a lot of pics but i did take a small clip of video of mr. reeves & ms. ryder - check out all the pics & clip below! although it was a blast i could not deal with being a professional photographer...although i wouldn't mind having one of those oh so cool cameras! thanks to the people who hooked me up to cover the event - you guys seriously rock for including a blogger at this sorta thing! popbytes over & out for tonight...oh thank heavens tomorrow is friday - xxoo!
key kids! so tonight hollywood blvd was a mess of traffic as they laid out the blue carpet for the big poseidon premiere! i shot some pictures before i left work - i almost stuck around just to see hottie josh lucas make his appearance but alas popbytes had a million things to do tonight! i really love the original 1972 disaster movie (oh bless shelley winters) so i am looking forward to catching this updated version when it opens this friday...yet i do have a 'sinking' feeling it will not be that great...but with some hot lucas eye candy strolling around who really cares! popbytes out for now...xxoo!

hey kids! last night hollywood blvd saw the premiere for sahara (due out april 8th) - and thanks to photos taken by html bum - you are able to see sexy tiny lady penelope cruz wrangling with a camel - on the 'sand' carpet - her walk with the camel didn't last very long - as the camel seemed a bit freaked out from all the flashes going off left and right - he wasn't so happy - and then hottie boyfriend (and 'sahara' co-star) matthew mcConaughey showed up with his trailer - oh that matthew - always the romantic...enjoy the pics - and popbytes will be back later!

i know it's early still here on the west coast - but had to share with you all a few pictures i just took of the big premiere setting up on hollywood blvd today! besides closing the street to traffic - they have actually set-up bleachers for what im sure will be a huge turnout later tonight! that's the first premiere i have seen bleachers for! its almost like the oscars and of course there are already some diehard type people camping out below to maybe snag a peek or a glance at the ultra hot cast tonight when they walk the very long red carpet - no julia roberts though - but brad will be there (oh and ms. catherine!)...enjoy for now - and i will be back later!
