i totally knew something like this was bound to happen - my dear lovely singer/songwriter lily allen has been hanging out in los angeles for the past few weeks - and i had a feeling i'd run into her at some point (since you simply can't miss her adorable pink hair that she's rocking at the moment) so just a little while ago i was driving north on fairfax avenue - and there she is getting into her red mini-cooper - i honked - she waved and smiled - then a few minutes later she pulled up right behind me - i kinda stuck my head out the window and was all 'i love you lily!!!' she smiled and as our cars parted separate ways (fairfax & santa monica blvd) she even waved goodbye - i also wanted to scream that one blogger in particular who has been harping on her (he shall remain nameless...) is a complete asshole - nobody puts ms. allen in the corner plus i find lily to be way more appealing than katy perry (also on capitol records) who hasn't quite clicked with me yet - i don't get all the buzz over her! oh i hope to run into lily again before she heads home to london (the pictures below are from last week when ms. allen was picking up some coffee) popbytes over & out for now...xxoo

oh my word - this is my second completely random celebrity sighting in boston ( the first was adam levine from maroon 5) i was having a light lunch at cafeteria on newbury street while on break from the design conference - and this tall woman walks in and i'm thinking to myself she kind of looks like brazilian supermodel gisele bündchen - so i turn to my pal joey and i was like 'she totally looks like gisele' - then joey quickly exclaimed 'it is gisele!' she sat down right next to us along w/ her girlfriend (there was no sign of her footballer boyfriend tom brady) we were almost done with lunch so as we left - i politely asked her to take a picture with me - of course i mentioned popbytes and left her my card - although she was semi-reluctant at first she quickly folded and tossed up the peace sign as joey snapped our picture (neither one of us had our real camera but the cellphone picture below came out fairly decent) i'm not sure why she's in boston but i heard her say she just got here - she was quite gorgeous in person (wearing minimal makeup) but girlfriend wanted to make sure the picture came out ok - gisele mentioned the lighting in the restaurant wasn't the best but i think she looks pretty freakin' hot under any lighting - oh this little sighting totally made my day! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo
hey y'all! oh my gosh - i had the most random celebrity sighting in boston tonight...i was hanging outside the westin copley place with my pal joey (smoking a cigarette - yes shame on me) and i spotted this cute bunch of guys rolling up to the palm restaurant - as they were walking past i noticed the very last hottie happened to be adam levine from maroon 5 looking sexy & adorable as always (with a cute blonde on his arm) it all went by so fast but i managed to shout to him 'adam we love you' he turned, smiled and said 'thanks!' so when i got back to the room i quickly looked up the band's schedule and they did play boston earlier this evening - he was so cute in person - it totally made my evening! besides all that - i had a splendid day and the design conference kick-off was great - i'm really looking forward to the next two days! below is the new maroon 5 video for if i never saw your face again featuring rihanna - it's a hot track! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo
breaking news! i just got home to a swarm of paparazzi trying to catch lindsay lohan going to an AA meeting at the senior center right on las palmas & franklin - across the street from my apartment! i'll be back with more details soon...she's over there right now!
ok here's the scoop - lindsay arrived promptly at 6pm - i was just pulling up to my parking garage (after a quick grocery store run) which was blocked by a bunch of cars - as numerous photographers jumped out and started running for their lives - we knew someone big was headed inside - then people began screaming 'lindsay - lindsay' - that's when i spotted ms. lohan who was quickly ushered inside - her blonde hair was down and she was wearing a black top - one older guy was shooing all the photographers away - by this time there's a huge line of cars behind me - but i had to wait until my garage was unblocked - i ran upstairs to grab my camera and was on stakeout for a little bit of time - where i overheard a bunch of photographers (including one from TMZ) griping about one blog - which shall remain nameless - but it wasn't perez - i'd love to say who they were talking about but i won't (i actually despise the blog as well...)
the AA meeting lasted about an hour - lindsay must have left super fast - i had gone back upstairs until i knew she'd be leaving but by 7pm she was gone already - ms. lohan vanished in an instant - and the paparazzi quickly left - oh it was a scene on las palmas for a bit of time - at least she's trying to be serious about her recovery - i would've loved to been a fly on the wall during the meeting! so that's the skinny on lindsay's whereabouts early this evening! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!

happy friday people - TGIF! i'm going to start off this morning with a small crazy random coincidence of sorts...so last night i went to the grocery store after work down by third & beverly (i so love that trader joes & ralphs corner - park & cross!) i was headed back on highland going north and i thought to myself (jokingly!) i wonder if i will see another celeb? since i just saw mr. matthew perry driving up highland on tuesday night...
so i was right around fountain again and driving in a BMW convertible i spot thaao penghlis who is most famous for his very evil & wicked count tony dimera character on my dear days of our lives and mr. penghlis is rumored possibly to be making a return to salem to shake things up - fingers crossed! and no - this time i didn't feel like hollering out the window!
oh my word i thought - what are the chances of within a few days seeing two TV stars driving in the same spot - in nearly the very same car? gosh maybe those two are in cahoots - ha! it just tripped me out...yes i know it's LA and all but still you've gotta admit it's pretty random - so for all you angelenos out there keep your eyes peeled when driving on highland between fountain & sunset! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!

who watches days of our lives? i have been a faithful fan for almost 15 years now (on-air over 40 years now!) and over the past few months the show its storylines have really sucked big time - the writers keep rehashing the same damn stories over & over again! we've all had our fill of 'sammi, austin, carrie, & lucas' - that whole bit right now is the lamest - plus that whole 'dr. alex north' plot with 'marlena' ( deidre hall) was the dumbest - i'm so glad they ended that trainwreck of a story! the only characters i seem to remotely enjoy lately are 'kate' and 'lexie'...oh and 'bonnie' who isn't nearly on enough! (rumors are still floating around that NBC will not renew the 'days' contract next year)
so getting to my story i was doing a bit of grocery shopping this afternoon over in studio city (a nice change of pace but it was like a fiery furnace over there - so freakin' hot!) and i spotted real-life couple arianne zuker and kyle lowder (they married in august 2002 - 4 years and still together in hollywood - that's great) who played 'nicole walker' & 'brady black' - characters who picked up and left 'salem' a few months back - i had to approach ms. zuker and tell her how much we miss her character and that the soap has steadily gone downhill without our dear 'nicole'! gosh she was always up to something devilish but she also had a vulnerable side that made fans love her and gave her character a little more depth! (her father forced her as a teenager to do porn while drugged...you all know how those daytime soaps go!)
in real-life she was so kind & sweet - dressed casual & sporty she looked so cute! one of those gals who needs no make-up and still looks gorgeous - her hubby was running around shopping so i didn't get a chance to say hello to him but he looked so different from his time on 'days' - kyle had really long hair (see below right pic) and looked quite sexy - much better than when he played straight-laced 'brady'! arianne said she's busy audtioning and joked that the writers didn't kill her character off...so who knows...i think it would do a soap good to bring this sexy lady on (i'm thinking to switch to another one if 'days' doesn't perk itself up) i was also able to give her a popbytes card which i finally printed up a few days ago...so hello to ms. zuker if you made it here! rock & blog on - popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!

gosh i so enjoy very random sightings in places you might least expect to spot a celeb - so tonight after work i had to head to ralphs grocery store - for some reason who knows why...i wanted to go to the biggest one in the area down on 3rd & labrea - normally i just do 'rock n roll' ralphs on sunset but something told me deep down inside i should head down to 3rd...
so i gathered my few small grocery items i needed for tonight (like some red wine...) & i headed to checkout and mind you there were many lines open but somehow i managed to pick a line and i quickly realized i am only one person behind legendary actor & superstar don johnson! oh my goodness! i immediately recognized him - he was in a dark blue suit with sunglasses but there was NO mistaking him - he was with his small blonde haired son - and even apologized to the line when his card wasn't swiping so well - we were all like - oh that's ok...
i so wanted to ask him what he thought about the upcoming miami vice movie but the grocery store just isn't the place to do that sorta thing and i so know how to keep my cool - my camera was in the car but who could bear to whip that out in the store - plus i bet ralphs wouldn't like it either...anyways it was really fun to spot him - so random - i love it! he did look good - but damn when he was younger he was like the hottest thing ever...just check out the pics below - look at him with a VERY young melanie griffith - oh what a day it has been but overall was very good day - wink wink to a certain special friend...mwahahahaha...popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!
hey kids! i am so glad to have made it through today - it was just a really weird day! so tonight i am just bringing on some more random celebrity spottings (of course i had two in a row!) i have been catching quite a few lately! when it rains it pours - so tonight at 'rock & roll' ralphs on sunset i first spotted corin nemec (from parker lewis can't lose) standing on the express lane looking like he had just come from working out - he has that kinda face which you totally recognize but it takes a few minutes to nab his name! he looked hot! so then as i was checking out ron livingston (aka berger from 'sex & the city') walked in the door with a buddy - he had dark sunglasses on but i immediately spotted him - he looked great! his hair was dyed a very dark black and his buddy was kinda nerdy...they seemed to be in a mad rush for whatever they had come in for...
so now i am just watching a little TV - the usual suspects like ANTM and of course i will have to see who will leave idol tonight! i thought the whole country set-up last night totally blew chunks - hardcore! and i am big fan of country but they ALL sucked - that's not popbytes country! i don't even really have a favorite at this point...and we will soon be down to the final 8! yikes! somebody better step up their ass up to the idol plate very soon - at this point i certainly don't see any of these people being our next idol...popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!
ha! so when you see one celebrity during your day...i have realized you are bound to see two! after finding the cutest shirts down at energie on melrose today - i was coming back up crescent heights (my favorite cut-thru street - hands down!) and i headed back home east on sunset...so i am stopped at a light - look over and see actor jeff goldblum in a black SUV (i think a range rover but i could be wrong though) - it was just so random - i kinda pointed at him and looked in his direction - mr. goldblum totally saw me spotting him and gave a great friendly smile of acknowledgment - gosh he has been in so many movies including my favorite film of all time annie hall - he looked classy & handsome as always!
and yeah even though i know i live in los angeles...blah blah blah...it still trips me out to have random celeb spottings - especially when you're driving! everybody is driving in LA - so when you notice someone - it's kinda like a wow coincidence! so after that one i was kinda on the prowl to see another and just before i turned into 'rock & roll' ralphs grocery store - i see the cutest boy in the car and i'm like where do i know him from??? then boom i quickly realized it was lost hottie ian somerhalder - gosh why did they have to kill his character off?!? anyways i'm just chillin' like a villain on a saturday night - hope you all are having fun! popbytes over & out until tomorrow...xxoo!

of course i didn't know when i posted the picture below yesterday but now reading this post over at omgblog - it is all starting to ring a bell...i just got all excited yesterday :( gosh whatever - he did set me up well and it's still a fun picture to look at but oh lordy all this went down on april fools day!!! i feel so duped BUT at least he thought popbytes was a site worthy to try and plant gossip on - ANYWAYS - i learned a lesson! and i will be on the lookout for more set-ups...xxoo!

oh my goodness! this is insane! so this morning i was covering a press junket for the new movie take the lead (which i will post on later...it went great!) - it was taking place over at the beverly hills four seasons hotel - so i valet my car and then i see a fancy shmancy black mercedes SUV and who pops right out of the car and is walking right behind me (all alone) but yes...ms. nicole richie! this was finally my time to talk with her - i was so excited! i stopped her and told her that i run a little gossip site called popbytes and then i shared a small bit of gossip dirt with her - that i can't/won't share here - it's just between nicole & me but she totally agreed & completely got me! rock on nicole!
she looked GREAT - especially for 915am - she was very healthy looking and absolutely glowed in person - she was so sweet and i am so glad we got to share something juicey! it was just one of the most random moments i have had in quite a while! and of course i have posted crap on her being too skinny etc - but usually out of concern and i have never really trashed her...after today i was able to see her in person for myself and can vouch that she did look great! some recent pics of her at LA fashion week are below - popbytes over & out for now! and oh yes i did make it over to 'project runway's' santino rice's yard sale - i will post some pics of me & mr. santino in a bit! xxoo :)

ah how very fitting that on the day i post you know you're from socal when... that i run into two random 'celebs' in totally different places...neither i felt the need to approach - just planned on making note of it here on popbytes!
first up was ross the intern - if you watch jay leno then you will know who he is - he is super hysterical - i absolutely love his bits on 'the tonight show'- he was shopping with three gals over at DIESEL (hands-down favorite clothes - ever) in lovely pasadena (reminds me of my days in brooklyn heights - kinda) - they were browsing jeans & i spotted him a mile away as he & his personality aren't hard to miss...
second was actress katey sagal - who was shopping with her kids at trader joes (which i just adore - awesome food & not so $$$) over in studio city (the only place i could live in the valley - that is if i had to live in the valley) - as soon as i walked in i immediately was like - oh there's 'peg bundy' (married with children) - it's so funny how these random people just pop up as you go about your day in socal! i just love it! anyways i am out till tomorrow - i hope you all got some good holiday bargains! have a great rest of your friday night - xxoo

hey everyone - so i just returned from the legendary and still looks great connie stevens house - and i had a blast - it was a benefit for GLASS - and it was a beautiful sunday afternoon - the wine was great - lots of tasty treats - and a few cute guys - a silent and live auction were a major portion of the day - and it was all for a great cause - and i met some great people including cuties greg & eddie, as well as ms. gretchen (who is making the coolest drink mixer ever over at modmixmartinis.com) - and as i was leaving - i just had to talk to joely fisher who was co-hosting the event with mom connie (pictured below) - she was so nice - i made sure to give her a popbytes card - and i asked 'will we see you on 'desperate housewives' tonight?' - she said 'not tonight but next week' - she was so nice - and even said my hair was cool! and joely is also six months pregnant with a little girl - so i wished her luck on that as well - so all in all it was a great event for GLASS - and i'm thrilled popbytes was thought to be included in the mix - it's only up up up from here! rock on - popbytes out for now! xxoo

Rude Reality TV 'Starr' Sighting
So, there I was, Election '04 Eve in Ralph's on Sunset (AKA rock & roll ralph's) minding my own business,
picking up a few items for the week, and pondering Bush v. Kerry, and who do I
unfortunately bump into on the Chips 'n Dip aisle (#3 to be exact)...that annoying
Ryan Starr of 1st season American Idol 'fame' and later 'The Surreal Life 3'. It's bad enough
that we're subjected to her attitude on re-runs of TSL3 on VH1, but now I have to
see her in my grocery store too!?!? The horror. Anyways, I wouldn't have even
thought to give her any publicity, but she was so trashy that I couldn't resist. She was there with a very cute guy who had the job of pushing her cart while she
walked up and down the aisles with her hands in her pockets. She obviously has
achieved the level of starrdom that precludes you from picking your own items off
the shelves. Anyways, I'm not sure if she had a cold or SARS, but she was (and I'm
not kidding, kids) coughing onto her boy-toy and in his face! She wasn't even
covering her mouth when doing so. Aren't manners taught at early ages these days?
Obviously, she wasn't paying attention that day in school. So, he made a few futile
attempts to get her to stop, but the more he requested, the more she did it. I felt
the urge to either get a vaccine or rescue her cute boy-toy. But, I resisted and
finished my shopping and left. To be honest, she was never a favorite of mine, but
now she's definitely the bottom of the barrel. In public, whether you're a 'starr'
or not, please have some decency and don't portray yourself as trash - even if you

hey kids! thank heaven for fridays! and the sun is back in los angeles - altho its a bit colder than it was - boo hoo - anyways i was just running to the deli - and who was standing outside - very tall - and quite handsome - was hunky actor vince vaughn - made quick eye contact with him - kinda the i know that you know that i know yr a celebrity - he was chatting with two guys - so i didnt feel like harassing tonight - this was right at the deli on highland and franklin - where i last spotted scott bakula - i so love the unexpected celeb sighting!
and tomorrow night - i scored a free ticket to val kilmer in the ten commandments 'musical' at the kodak theater - i was supposed to go tonight - but switched to go with gal pal cathy tomorrow night - and then to a party hosted by new friends at tvgasm.com...so there will be plenty to report on soon enough - popbytes out & a little chilly in LA!
