video fix: gorillaz / ‘stylo’ with bruce willis!

earlier this week i got an advanced copy of the new gorillaz album plastic beach (out this coming tuesday, march 9th) which i’ve been listening to a lot – although i still prefer their last album demon days (a masterpiece in my opinion) their latest release is pretty amazing – it definitely takes you on a journey from start to finish – the first single stylo is one of the strongest tracks and features mos def and bobby womack on vocals – watch the video below starring (still kinda sexy) bruce willis who chases down by car on a deserted highway some of the ‘virtual band members’ – by the end – you’ll be dying to see what will happen in the next video just like me! popbytes over & out for tonight … xoxo

hey pam, shouldn’t you be practicing?!

hey y’all! with the premiere of dancing with stars about two weeks away (monday, march 22nd) you’d think pamela anderson might be busy practicing her dance moves but she’s still partying like a (washed-up) rock star – girlfriend was spotted leaving a london club looking a bit disheveled (what else is new?!) if she wants to last on the show – she’s needs to calm down on the late night escapades and start learning all the steps that will be coming down the pike! i’m totally going to vote for ms. anderson like a crazy person but i fear i might be placing my bets on the wrong person – i just hope somehow she can pull it off in the end and surprise us all! popbytes over & out for now … xoxo

legalbytes: from oscars to lawscars!

For this week’s spotlight on pop culture and law, the Lawscar goes to The Hurt Locker. Iraqi War veteran Master Sgt. Jeffrey S. Sarver filed a lawsuit this week against people behind the Oscar nominated film, including director Kathryn Bigelow and banned producer Nicholas Chartier. Sarver alleges that Marc Boal, the screenwriter, was embedded with him in combat and stole his life story, even though the film’s credits state that the characters are entirely fictional. So, why wait until just days before the Academy Awards to file the lawsuit? It’s called leverage. And, it likely will work to squeeze out a nice financial (and confidential) settlement! Have a good weekend, Popbytes peeps. Remember, don’t drink and drive. But, feel free to drink and watch me on TV Guide Network‘s Countdown to the Academy Awards, starting Sunday at noon (PST)!
