by now i’m sure you’ve heard there’s a campaign going on here in los angeles to save the cahuenga peak (where the world famous hollywood sign has stood since 1923) from real estate developers (hiss! boo!) in an effort to raise attention and awareness – the sign has been covered with the slogan save the peak – the hope is to raise enough money ($12.5 million by april 14th) to buy the land and then turn it over to griffith park (which i believe is the largest urban park in all of america!) i believe already half of the money has been raised (thanks in part to a number of celebrity donors including julia louis-dreyfus, tippi hendren, hottie julian mcmahon, and virginia madsen) i simply cannot imagine living in the city of angels without the hollywood sign – seeing brand new multi-million dollar houses i totally can’t afford would be the ultimate eye sore! let’s keep our fingers crossed they’ll be able to raise all of the money in time to ‘save the peak’! popbytes over & out for now … xoxo
